Caitlin Clark Is Responsible For 26.5% Of All WNBA Revenue, Says Report

WNBA during her short time in the league. And thanks to research done by an expert in valuations, she was responsible for over a quarter of the league’s entire revenue during her rookie season last year.
Caitlin Clark’s Massive Impact On WNBA Revenue
Clark entered the league with plenty of fanfare. She first became a sensation at the University of Iowa, and was selected with the top overall pick by the Indiana Fever during the 2024 WNBA Draft.
Things around the association changed immediately, as ticket prices rose and merchandise sales skyrocketed thanks to the new superstar. Opposing teams moved their home games against the Fever to larger arenas to meet the demand for attendance, and networks broadcasting the games were seeing record numbers when Clark was a part of the action.

According to a study done by Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance at Indiana University Columbus, the impact of Caitlin Clark is like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Brewer calculated that Clark was responsible for 26.5% of all WNBA economic activity from the 2024 season, which includes all avenues of revenue.
He was asked to predict Clark’s economic impact for the current 2025 campaign, and had the following to say:
“If things just go as they were, and we have an expanded season of 22 home games with modest inflation, I’m looking at $875 [million]. And I could easily see that eclipsing a billion dollars on the economic impact of Caitlin Clark this year.”
You don’t have to be a financial expert to see the impact that Clark has on the WNBA economy, though. Ticket prices around the league have seen a jump of 125% when the Fever come to town as a visiting team, with the average get-in cost to see Indiana as the away team sitting at over $106. That is nearly $30 higher than the second place team, the Dallas Wings, who have this year’s top pick on their roster in Paige Bueckers.
