Our full WWE Backlash 2025 match card predictions following the events of WrestleMania 41, including John Cena vs Randy Orton.

WrestleMania 41 is in the books, and it certainly left WWE fans talking — one way or another.

Raw after Mania was eventful and, between John Cena’s 17th world title win and Becky Lynch’s heel turn, set the table for an intriguing Backlash 2025.

Set for May 10 in St. Louis, Missouri, Backlash has the opportunity to feel like a true continuation of WrestleMania’s biggest stories rather than a cooldown event.

With hometown hero Randy Orton front and centre and new titleholders across the board, it should be a strong show.

Here’s our full match card prediction for WWE Backlash 2025 following the chaos of WrestleMania 41 and the Raw after Mania.

WWE Backlash 2025 Match Card Predictions

Women’s Intercontinental Championship – Lyra Valkyria vs Becky Lyn

Lyra Valkyria’s WrestleMania debut came in the form of winning the women’s tag titles with the returning Becky Lynch. But their reign didn’t last long.

Just 24 hours later, on Raw, Becky Lynch turned heel on Valkyria after they dropped the titles back to Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez.

Lynch didn’t come back to WWE to play second fiddle or drift aimlessly. Turning on Valkyria signals her renewed focus on singles gold, and the IC title is the perfect prize to kickstart her new villainous chapter.

Expect this one to be physical, personal, and potentially career-defining for Valkyria, who continues to establish herself as a top name on Raw.

United States Championship – Jacob Fatu vs Solo Sikoa

Jacob Fatu became the new United States Champion at WrestleMania 41 by defeating LA Knight in just his second WWE PLE appearance.

Solo Sikoa, the enforcer of the former Bloodline, has simmering tension with Fatu, and it feels like a slow-burning story that’s ready to erupt. There’s a sense of inevitable implosion, especially with the title now adding fuel to the fire.

Backlash could be the setting where these two Samoan heavy-hitters settle the score, with Fatu looking to solidify his dominance while Solo claws back into relevance. Whether this signals a full-blown reboot of the Bloodline or simply a grudge match remains to be seen.

Women’s World Championship – Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley

Iyo Sky retained her Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania, but Rhea Ripley made it clear on Raw that she’s still coming back for her title.

Iyo pinned Bianca to retain, and not Ripley, hinting that the two could have unfinished business. Backlash could be the stage for their last match in a while, before WWE reshape the women’s main event scene after a year dominated by just a handful of names.

Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker vs CM Punk & Roman Reigns

The biggest Raw-after-Mania shocker? Paul Heyman seemingly assembling a new faction with Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker at the centre, drawing comparisons to an Evolution-style power play. The betrayal of both Roman Reigns and CM Punk sets up a blockbuster tag match for Backlash.

Whether or not Punk and Reigns are truly on the same page remains to be seen, but the combustible elements are already in place. If WWE wants to plant more seeds for Heyman’s new dynasty, this is where it all begins.

Undisputed WWE Championship – John Cena vs Randy Orton

If there’s one match that absolutely belongs on the Backlash 2025 marquee, it’s this one. John Cena vs. Randy Orton — for what could be the final time — with the WWE Championship on the line.

WWE wasted no time setting up Orton as Cena’s first challenger, using their infamous history and the St. Louis setting to perfection.

In what may be the last time these two icons headline a PLE together, expect emotion, nostalgia, and a red-hot crowd.

Cena’s title reign probably isn’t ending here, but don’t be surprised if we get a controversial finish to generate even more heat heading into the summer.
