Wolves Vs Ipswich Highlights

Jack Taylor scored an injury-time winner to give Ipswich Town a priceless Premier League victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

A Matt Doherty own-goal gave the visitors a first-half lead before Matheus Cunha levelled for the home side with 76 minutes on the clock.

The relegation battlers looked like sharing the spoils before substitute Taylor headed home from a Jack Clarke corner. In the process, sending the away fans into delirium.

That win leaves the Suffolk side just one point and one place behind 17th placed Crystal Palace. However, the Eagles are yet to play on GW16.

From Wolves boss Gary O’Neil’s perspective, the last-gasp defeat has pushed the 41-year-old closer to the sack. Much has been made of his future and the latest loss will have seriously damaged his cause.

The final whistle brought about angry scenes as Rayan Ait-Nouri had to be lead down the tunnel by teammate Craig Dawson. All owing to a heated confrontation with Ipswich defender Wes Burns.

To dampen the mood even further, a chorus of boos from the home side rang out around Molineux after their latest setback.

As it stands, the Old Gold are now four points from safety just before the halfway mark of the 2024/25 Premier League. The big question now remains, will O’Neil be in charge of the side against Leicester next week?

Across their 16 fixtures, O’Neil has tasted victory on just two occasions. His first came in a 2-0 win against Southampton before a surprise 4-1 triumph against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

As it stands, Gareth Southgate remains as one of the favourites to fill the potential hotseat at WV1. You can check out the other candidates and odds for the next Wolves manager here.
