Tottenham weren’t able to hold on for three points against Wolves on Sunday afternoon, as the visitors pulled off a late comeback against Spurs who continue to struggle – watch the Tottenham vs Wolves highlights here.

Tottenham Throw Away Three Points

Hwang Hee-chan hadn’t scored a single goal for Wolves this season before Christmas, but the forward made it two league goals in as many games when he broke the deadlock on Sunday.

A clever free kick on the edge of the area was taken quick by Wolves, with Rayan Aït-Nouri playing the ball to Hwang who expertly whipped a first-time shot into the bottom corner leaving Fraser Forster no chance.

Wolves were only ahead for five minutes though, as Tottenham rallied fast through Rodrigo Bentancur with the midfielder converting a Pedro Porro corner for his second Premier League goal of the season.

Chances came at both ends before half time and with the score still level just two minutes before the break, Tottenham were awarded a penalty.

Heung-min Son is usually so reliable for Tottenham in their biggest moments but he wasn’t able to convert from the penalty spot and Jose Sa’s save meant the score remained level heading towards the break.

Son’s blushes were spared by Brennan Johnson as half time edged closer, with the Welshman putting Spurs ahead just seconds before the break.

Johnson was allowed too much space in the box and Dejan Kulusevski found his teammate who made no mistake from close range to put the hosts ahead right before half time.

Tottenham could have sealed all three points with just ten minutes left as Dominic Solanke sent Kulusevski through on goal, but the rejuvenated forward couldn’t convert after rounding the goalkeeper.

Wolves lost some key players throughout the game with injuries, including star player Matheus Cunha, but they didn’t stop probing for an equaliser and finally the visitors were rewarded in the 85th minute.

Jørgen Strand Larsen popped up with a brilliant finish to level the game, as the striker snuck in behind the Spurs defence and smashed a shot into the roof of the net from a tight angle.

WATCH: Tottenham 2-2 Wolves Highlights

The point for Wolves is much more valuable than it is for Tottenham, with Vitor Pereira’s side moving two points clear of the relegation zone thanks to the important draw.

Wolves will face their stiffest test yet under their new manager in just over a week, with their next Premier League game coming against high-flying Nottingham Forest.

Spurs could now drop to as low as 14th after gameweek 19  and with fixtures against Newcastle and Arsenal coming up, things may get worse in North London before they get better.
