Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola and his wife have ‘gone their separate ways’ after more than 30 years together – but who is Cristina Serra?

Details are minimal about the reasons for the separation, with the cause not publicly disclosed.

The couple have three children: Maria, Marius and Valentina, and had enjoyed a long and happy relationship.

Guardiola first met Serra when she was 18, and he was 19. At the time, Pep was modelling at Serra’s family’s store in Barcelona, working for Spanish designer Antonio Miro.

The pair began dating shortly afterwards, initially long-distance due to Guardiola’s career as a footballer.

They then eventually settled into a family home in upper Barcelona.

In 2013, they moved to when Guardiola was named manager at Bayern Munich.

They later relocated to England in 2016 as Pep took over at Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola and wife Cristina Serra were married after 27 years together in a low-key ceremony in Catalonia back in May 2014.

The service was attended only by close family , with little publicity.

According to reports, the couple separated in December, with the split said to be amicable and respectful.
