When is the Champions League last-16 draw? Find out everything you need to know as Liverpool, Arsenal, Aston Villa and more find out who their next opponents are in Europe’s premier club competition.

The Champions League play-off round has drawn to a close, and with the likes of Manchester City, Juventus and AC Milan now eliminated, just 16 teams remain in the competition.

Liverpool, Barcelona, Arsenal, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Aston Villa had already advanced to the last-16, qualifying automatically after finishing in the top eight of the league phase table.

They are now ed by the eight winners from the knockout play-off round: Bayern Munich, Benfica, Club Brugge, Feyenoord, Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

The top eight clubs in the draw will be paired based on their final position in the league phase: 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th, and 7th and 8th, meaning that, for example, Liverpool will be paired with Barcelona.

The eight play-off winners have already had their positions allocated in the bracket.

Four bowls will be prepared for the draw, a bowl for each seeded pairing, with the balls containing the names of each pair of seeded teams. The team that is pulled out first will be allocated a spot in the top half of the bracket, and the second will be in the bottom half. For example, if Liverpool are drawn first, they will face PSG, and Barcelona will face Benfica.

There will also be a draw to decide which teams will host the first and second legs for the quarter-finals and semi-finals.
