Newcastle United lifted the Carabao Cup after defeating Liverpool 2-1 at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, ending a 70-year wait for a major trophy in the process.

Eddie Howe and his Newcastle United side made history on Sunday, as they beat Liverpool 2-1 in the Carabao Cup final to secure the club’s first major trophy in 70 years with a magnificent performance at Wembley Stadium.

Dan Burn, who was named in Thomas Tuchel’s maiden England squad earlier in the week, opened the scoring with the Magpies’ first goal at Wembley since 2000, before Alexander Isak made it 2-0 in the second period.

Federico Chiesa gave the Reds a glimmer of hope with a well-taken goal in injury time, but thankfully for Bruno Guimaraes and co., they were able to hold on to secure a monumental victory in front of their travelling fans.

When Is Newcastle’s Carabao Cup Parade?

Following the victory in the capital, one question that tops the Magpies fans’ lists is when is the open-top bus parade?

With several players linking up with their respective national teams almost immediately after the cup win, Newcastle ers will have to wait close to two weeks before seeing the silverware being paraded around the city.

The official date for the open-top bus parade has been set for March 29.

This has been decided as the optimal date to celebrate the triumph, as the team have a free weekend on that date, which comes thanks to their exit from the FA Cup earlier in the month.

Fans will have to wait even longer before they can see their League Cup heroes in action once again, with their next fixture, a home clash against Brentford in the Premier League, being scheduled for Wednesday, April 2.

As we approach the latter stages of the campaign, the UK’s best football betting sites price Newcastle at around 9/4 to finish in the top four to secure Champions League qualification.
