Fifteen Things The 2025 Masters Winner Gets As Rory McIlroy Crowned Champion

After the recent opening golf major of the season, we look at everything the Masters golf winner gets and what the 2025 champion can expect to walk away from Augusta with. As Rory McIlroy finally landed the Masters – the one major he’d yet to win – to complete the golf career Grand Slam.
Of course, the coveted ‘Green Jacket’ and the Masters go hand-in-hand – but in addition to this new garment you might not know there are 15 THINGS the champion will get.
What Will The 2025 Masters Golf Winner Get?
In 2025, golf fans saw world number two Rory McIlroy finally win his first Masters and in the process complete golf’s Career Grand Slam – something he’s been trying to do for ten years.
McIlroy, held off England’s Justin Rose in a play-off after notching a birdie on the first head-to-head hole – with Rose scoring a par.
Meaning, after an up-and-down final round at Augusta Rory McIlroy was measured up for his first green jacket.
However, it’s not just this famous garment that he gets – read on to find out exactly all the things the Masters winners get.
1. THE GREEN JACKET
Of course, as mentioned, the most famous bit of attire in sport – the Green Jacket – is one of the biggest prizes in golf and many of the players will argue that getting measured up for this even outweighs the £2.8m cheque the winner gets.
The Green Jacket tradition began in 1949, with its colour actually officially Pantone 342 C or Augusta Green.
Each of the Masters golf winners will also get a gold nameplate engraved inside the jacket.
They can take the green jacket home for a year, but it must be returned the following season where they remain onsite at Augusta.

2. NAME ENGRAVED ON THE MASTERS TROPHY
In addition to the Green Jacket, the Masters golf winner will also be presented with the main trophy – which is a replica of the Augusta clubhouse.
This Masters trophy was first awarded to Arnold Palmer back in 1961.
It’s made up of 900 separate pieces of silver – each winner will have their name engraved to the silver band at the base.
However, this main trophy will remain at Augusta.

3. THE MASTERS GOLD WINNER CAN KEEP A REPLICA MASTERS TROPHY
With the main Masters trophy staying onsite at Augusta, the champions are given a replica of the trophy, which they can take home.
This is approximately 40% smaller than the main original Masters trophy.

4. MASTERS GOLD MEDAL
There’s more.
If a Green Jacket, £2.8m winnings and a trophy isn’t enough – there is also a Masters gold medal for each champion.
In fact, this medal out-dates the Green Jacket and original trophy – having been first issued in 1934 to the first ever winner Horton Smith.

5. THE MASTERS GOLF WINNER GETS A GOLD LOCKET
There is also a gold locket for the 2025 Masters winner to claim.
But the champ has to wait a bit for this as Ben Crenshaw presents this to the winner at the Champions Dinner.
The thinking behind the Masters gold locket is that’s it’s meant to go to the winner’s wife or girlfriend.

6. MASTERS CLUB DINNER INVITATION
Once the dust has settled on getting their hands on the Green Jacket, the winner will also be invited to the Masters Club Dinner – we’ll, it would be a pretty rubbish dinner if the current champ wasn’t there.
This is normally held on the Tuesday the following year – two days before the next year’s event.
The champ gets to pick the menu – but guests have the option of the club menu, with many opting for the steak – shock.

7. HONORARY HIP OF AUGUSTA GOLF COURSE
If the Masters golf winner fancies a future round at Augusta – they can for free.
As another prize for winning the first golf major of the season, is honorary hip at Augusta for life.
Oh, they can also bring guests – so if you are pals with one of the past champs you can dust down your irons.

8. THE MASTERS GOLF WINNER GETS A CHAMPIONS ROOM LOCKER
To go with the honorary hip at Augusta, the Masters champ will also get their own locker in the champion’s room.
However, the room isn’t the biggest and are the no plans to enlarge it – so many past champs actually share their lockers with former winners.
For example – Scottie Scheffler has paired up with 1971 winner Charles Coody and the late Byron Nelson, who won his first Masters in 1937.

9. LIFETIME MASTERS INVITATIONS
You only need to win the Masters once – tell that to Rory McIlroy – and you’ll be invited back year-after-year – if you want to play.
Of course, the older champs might have retired from the pro circuit, but still often come back to play.
This year in 2025, the 1985 winner Bernhard Langer has said this will be his last aged 67.
10. ACCESS TO THE CHAMPIONS ‘ONLY’ GOLF RANGE
The list continues.
As the Masters winners over the years will also get exclusive access to the Champions ‘only’ Golf Range – which they can use at future events.
However, there is a drawback – despite offering privacy, the Champions Range isn’t as long as the full access ‘Tournament Practice Area’.

11. THE 2025 MASTERS GOLF WINNER WILL COLLECT POINTS GALORE
There are also 100 OWGR points on offer to the 2025 Masters golf winner.
This is 20 more than the Players, 30 more than a signature event and double that of most regular Tour events.
Oh, there is also 750 FedEx Cup points on the table for the champion.

12. A HUGE PAY CHEQUE
The 2024 Masters prize purse stood at $20m and a similar amount is on offer in 2025.
Of that purse, the Masters winners will walk away with $3.6m – which equates to approx. £2.8m.
You can see how the Masters prize money has increased over the years – with the 2014 winner Bubba Watson getting $1.6m.
Jose Maria Olazabal netted $360k in 1999, while Arnold Palmer walked away with $20k in 1964.

13. FIVE-YEAR MAJOR EXEMPTION
In addition to being allowed to play in any future Masters – the winner will also get a free to play in ANY of the other golf majors for the next five years.
Meaning the 2025 Masters golf winner will be allowed entry to ALL the other golf majors till 2030.

14. FIVE-YEAR PGA TOUR EXEMPTION
There is another exemption for winning the Masters – which is access to the PGA Tour for five years too.
This exemption also applies to the three other majors, if any player wins one of those too.

15. THE MASTERS GOLF WINNER GETS A SPECIAL TEE-TIME
When we say ‘tee-time’ we don’t mean the Masters golf winners get to pick when they eat dinner.
But they get special treatment in of when they can tee-off.
Each past Masters winner is allowed to bring one guest to play on the Sunday before Masters week.
The 2024 champion Scottie Scheffler kept it in the family this year and played with his mum.
