World number 20 golfer Tyrrell Hatton is no stranger to the odd expletive on (and off) the golf course and the Englishman was at it again on day one of the PGA Championship – being caught on LIVE TV swearing after dragging a par-three tee shot right.

Top English golfer Tyrrell Hatton was chugging away nicely on the opening day of the 2025 PGA Championships at Quail Hollow Golf and Country Club on Thursday.

He’d fired in a front nine score of 33 (-2), that included three birdies, while on the back nine was setting up on the 17th -3 and right in the mix.

However, the 33 year-old gave a shot back on the par three 17th after dragging his tee shot right – prompting Hatton to shout “Oh my God,” Hatton said. “That is… the worst f******…”  – which was all caught live on ESPN (watch below).

Leading to commentator Scott Van Pelt being lost for words – saying “Well to 18!” – as the ESPN cameras quickly cut to another group.

Tyrrell Hatton ended with a bogey four on the 17th, but the good news for his followers is that he recovered to birdie the 18th – ending his day one at the PGA Championship posting a 68 (-3).

He ended four shots off the day one leader Jhonattan Vegas, who shot a cracking 64.

But Hatton was six better than recent Masters winner Rory McIlroy after the world number two suffered a nightmare opening round 74 and is 10 off the leader.

Golf fans will now have one eye on if McIlroy will miss the cut – with his last at a Major coming in the 2024 Open.

Has Tyrrell Hatton Ever Won A Major?

No, the Englishman is yet to get his hands on one of the four golf major titles.

The best Tyrrell Hatton finish to date in a Major was a tied fifth place at the 2016 Open Championship at Royal Troon.

However, he’s also recorded a top 10 finish in four – with his most recent coming with a ninth place in the 2024 Masters.
