Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes is almost here as it headlines UFC 314. Both fighters are expected to earn lucrative purses for the UFC Featherweight Title contest, but just what is the exact UFC 314 prize money on offer and how much is each fighter being paid?

UFC 314 Prize Money

The anticipation is palpable as UFC 314 takes centre stage at the Kaseya Center on April 12. The card is headlined by one of the former pound-for-pound UFC stars in Alexander Volkanovski, as he aims to win the UFC Featherweight Title for a second time.

The best UFC betting sites have priced ‘The Great’ as the marginal favourite for the bout against Diego Lopes. The Brazilian is understandably the underdog here, with the majority of UFC fans expecting the Australian to become a two-time 145-pound king.

Looking at the UFC 314 prize money on offer, both main event combatants are being paid rather fruitfully. As far as exact figures are concerned, official purses won’t be revealed until after the fight. However, there have been some rumours as to how much each fighter will earn.

Although officially purses are yet to be revealed, you can expect Volkanovski to pocket at least $1 million for his main event bout at UFC 314. The Aussie’s last eight UFC fight purses have all been seven-figures, with another expected at UFC 314.

Do not be surprised to see Alexander Volkanovski pocket somewhere in the region of $2 million at UFC 314, particularly if he wins. For Diego Lopes, he is undoubtedly in for a career-high payday regardless of the outcome. His base purse is estimated to be around $500,000.

Again, expect these purses to massively inflate when pay-per-view revenue, sponsorship and other UFC bonuses are taken into in the aftermath. UFC prize money differs depending on the magnitude of the event and the names Dana White had fighting on the bill.

For a card of the calibre of UFC 314, the total prize money will equate to around $8 million+. The majority of which will go solely to Volkanovski, Lopes, Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett in the main event and co-main.

Alexander Volkanovski vs Diego Lopes Fight Purses

Both men are expected to receive an individual fight purse at UFC 314, so depending on which man has their hand raised will determine how much the winner receives. This is due to there being several UFC bonuses up for grabs.

Looking at both fighters previous purses, it very much depends on who wins as to who will be paid more. Yes, Alexander Volkanovski will likely earn around $1-2 million no matter the result, but this could inflate to around $3 million if he wins in emphatic fashion and the pay-per-view does well.

Similarly, expect Diego Lopes to earn a career-high payday if he pulls off the upset. The Brazilian has never earned seven-figures, but he will earn at least $1 million if he can beat the former champion in the UFC 314 main event at the Kaseya Center.

For ‘The Great’, as previously mentioned he has had several seven-figure paydays. His biggest purse to date reportedly came at UFC 294 when he was defeated for the second time by Islam Mkahchev. Despite losing the bout, Volkanovski reportedly pocketed a total purse of $2,392,000.

He also earned a reported $2 million for his last fight against Ilia Topuria, $2,142,000 for his win against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 and just shy of $2 million in his first fight with Makhachev at UFC 294. These are some of Alexander Volkanovski’s biggest fight purses to date.

Both men are in for big pay days and both thoroughly deserve it. Whoever has their hand raised with the UFC Featherweight Title around their waist after the fight, will be the man who has earned the most UFC 314 prize money.
