Ange Postecoglou is hoping Tottenham will have several first-team players back fit for Thursday’s trip to Bournemouth in the club’s latest injury update.

Tottenham Injury Update: Dominic Solanke And Archie Gray Set To Return

Spurs were without eight first-team players for Sunday’s underwhelming 1-1 draw at home with Fulham.

Dominic Solanke missed Fulham’s visit due to illness and was sent home having arrived at the stadium for the game. However, Postecoglou hopes to Solanke will have recovered in time to face his former club.

When asked if Solanke will return, the Spurs boss said: “I hope so. He trained (Saturday) but he came in and didn’t look well at all so we sent him home. It’s obviously an illness not an injury so we need to see how it settles down in the next couple of days but hopefully it’s nothing too significant.”

Archie Gray had to be replaced late on after being sent on as a substitute against Fulham. Postecoglou revealed that the midfielder only experienced a dead leg, however, and should be available.

Cristian Romero And Micky Van De Ven Still Doubts

Two key absentees has been the first-choice centre-back partnership of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

Romero has not played any football for Spurs since before the most recent international break. The Argentine has been sidelined with a toe issue and Postecoglou has taken a cautious approach with the defender in Tottenham’s latest injury update. Van de Ven is also working his way back to fitness in a positive update for the side.

“Potentially,” Postecoglou said when asked about a return for Romero. “He still hasn’t trained with the team, so he’s getting closer but he still hasn’t trained with the team.

“So, him and Micky (van de Ven) are still working with sport science staff. So, hopefully, not too far away.”
