The WWE universe is eagerly anticipating the biggest event of the wrestling calendar, WrestleMania, so we decided to look into which event had the highest attendance.

WrestleMania 41 is right around the corner, as the WWE heads to Las Vegas and John Cena competes to win the WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes in his last WrestleMania appearance.

The iconic wrestling organisation is known for putting on the biggest event of the year and 2025 will be no different as the company hopes to break all records.

One record that may be difficult to break is the attendance for a WrestleMania event and below are the top 10 highest attended WrestleMania’s in history.

WWE Top 10: Which WrestleMania Had The Highest Attendance?

Note: These attendances are from WWE reports and have been questioned by outside analysts, as you’ll find out.

1. WrestleMania 32 (2016)101,763 (AT&T Stadium)

Coming in at number one on this list is WrestleMania 32. However, there is some controversy around the actual attendance, as it is alleged to be lower than the reported 101,763.

In February 2017, Vince McMahon revealed that the reported attendance included ushers and ticket takers, with multiple reports from the Wrestling Observer claiming the real number is closer to 80,000.

No official claim has been made, and one thing that is undoubtedly true is that WrestleMania 32 holds the record for the WWE’s highest-grossing event at $17.3 million.

The card included some huge matches, including Roman Reigns vs Triple H, The Undertaker vs Shane McMahon, and Brock Lesnar vs Dean Ambrose.

2. WrestleMania 3 (1987)93,173 (Pontiac Silverdome)

Another WrestleMania that was reportedly deemed to have an inflated attendance by the WWE is WrestleMania 3, with the company reporting 93,173 people were present.

However, reports revealed that this number was allegedly close to the 80,000 mark and again included everyone in the building instead of just ticket-purchasing fans.

Despite this, WrestleMania 3 is regarded as one of the most infamous in history, as it involved the historic match between Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant – where Hogan would deliver the infamous body slam on the giant.

3. WrestleMania 35 (2019)82,265 (MetLife Stadium)

As we’ve now realised, WWE attendances tend to be slightly exaggerated, and this one is no different, according to outside reports.

WrestleMania 35 was alleged to have actually had around 70,000 people present, which is quite a way off the 82,265 which was what the WWE initially reported.

The event itself underwhelmed in some areas but had some standout matches: Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar, and both Batista and Kurt Angle’s retirement matches.

4. WrestleMania 23 (2007)80,103 (Ford Field)

WrestleMania 23 follows a similar theme, as the rumoured attendance was reportedly nearer 70,000-75,000 – but the company did sell out at Ford Field.

At the time, this was the highest-grossing event in wrestling history, selling 1.2 million PPVs and amassing over $5m in ticket sales.

The Undertaker continued his WrestleMania streak with a win over Batista, John Cena defended his WWE title against Shawn Michaels, and Donald Trump shaved Vince McMahon’s head.

5. WrestleMania 28 (2012)78,363 (SunLife Stadium)

Finally, for the first time on this list, we have a WrestleMania that has faced no controversy over its actual attendance number, and WrestleMania 28 also set a new record for PPV buys at 1.3 million.

The event generated over $67m in gross sales and played host to one of the biggest matches in wrestling history, as The Rock defeated John Cena in the main event.

Triple H was beaten by The Undertaker in what was deemed the end of an era, as Shawn Michaels acted as the special guest referee and the trio embraced after the match.

6. WrestleMania 34 (2018)78,133 (Mercedes-Benz Superdome)

Again, in what has been deemed an exaggerated number, WrestleMania 34 reportedly had 78,133 present – but reports have said that there were allegedly around 65,000.

This was the second WrestleMania to be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, and the 2018 event smashed the previous number for gross sales with $14.1m compared to $10.9 previously.

The overall card failed to live up to the hype from previous years, as Brock Lesnar beat Roman Reigns once again and The Undertaker beat John Cena in what could have been an all-time classic between two icons. However, the match lasted less than five minutes.

7. WrestleMania 31 (2015)76,976 (Levi’s Stadium)

WrestleMania 31 took place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, and 76,976 (allegedly nearer 67,000) people were in attendance.

However, this event did hold one of the best Money in the Bank cash-in moments of all time, as Seth Rollins took his opportunity and interrupted the match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

Rollins would get the pinfall on his former Shield partner and win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to end the night in historic fashion.

8. WrestleMania 33 (2017)75,245 (Camping World Stadium)

WrestleMania 33 follows the same trend as the majority of the entrants on this list, as the real attendance is allegedly nearer 65,000.

This event was memorable for many reasons, but the primary attraction was Goldberg’s return to WrestleMania, as the WWE icon returned to wrestling’s biggest event for the first time in 13 years.

Other notable moments included John Cena’s proposal to Nikki Bella, Roman Reigns defeating The Undertaker and Seth Rollins beating Triple H.

9. WrestleMania 30 (2014)75,167 (Mercedes-Benz Superdome)

As previously mentioned, WrestleMania 30 was the first WM to be held at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and amassed $10.9m in gross sales.

As we’ve learnt by now, the attendance is said to have been amplified and was allegedly nearer 65,000 – but this event brought arguably the biggest moment in WrestleMania history.

The Undertaker had competed in 21 WrestleManias before 2014, winning on each occasion, and the Dead Man faced Brock Lesnar looking to maintain his perfect record.

However, Lesnar would go on to do the unthinkable and hand The Undertaker his first WM defeat, shocking the audience into silence.

10. WrestleMania 24 (2008)74,635 (Florida Citrus Bowl)

Finally we have WrestleMania 24, which is said to have reported an accurate attendance of 74,635, which means it has the 10th highest attendance in WWE WrestleMania history.

This WM had a host of star names from outside of wrestling, as Kim Kardashian worked as the hostess, Snoop Dogg was a ringside manager, and boxing icon Floyd Mayweather beat the Big Show.

WrestleMania 24 was the first to be shown in high definition and included iconic matches like Shawn Michaels beating Ric Flair in a retirement match, The Undertaker defeating Edge, and CM Punk winning the Money in the Bank ladder match.
