The Premier League Will Issue Disciplinary Charges On Tuesday To Clubs That Breached PSR

On Tuesday the Premier League will issue disciplinary charges to clubs that breached profitability and sustainability rules between 2021 and 2024.
Premier League Cracking Down On PSR
All Premier League clubs will be making sure their finances are in order by Tuesday morning, as teams that are found to have breached profitability and sustainability could be punished in the coming days.
Charges could come at a costly time for clubs in the middle of the January transfer window because as well as point deductions there may also be transfer bans enforced.

Point deductions were handed out last year for teams that breached the PSR rules, with both Everton and Nottingham Forest surviving relegation despite losing ground. The Toffees were deducted points on two occasions, dropping 12 in total for breaching the laws.
The punishment for Forest wasn’t anywhere near as severe as the one that Everton received with just one charge, but they still had to make up ground after a four point deduction.
Leicester were under scrutiny too for breaching PSR however they got off on a technicality, as for one of the seasons in question they were a Championship side.

The Foxes may not get so lucky again this time however, with Leicester reportedly being the Premier League club that is most at risk of being disciplined.
A points deduction would be more costly to Leicester than almost any other side in the league, as they currently sit 19th in the table and two points adrift from safety.
There are of course other teams at risk of being charged by the Premier League on Tuesday, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Newcastle all reportedly in danger of an punishment.
Manchester City will remain a hot topic of debate going into the future, as a decision is still yet to be made for their 115 charges between 2009 and 2018.
