Supercopa de Espana: Real Madrid vs Mallorca  Preview

Real Madrid

After a sluggish start to the 2024-25 season, Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid have found their rhythm. Their newest Galactico, Kylian Mbappe, has seemingly settled down, the midfield is looking a lot more sorted, and with David Alaba nearing his return, the defence should also solidify in the coming days. The All-Whites are currently first in the La Liga rankings with 43 points from 19 games and are the favourites to defend their crown.

Los Blancos are on a seven-game unbeaten run in all competitions (6W, 1 D). In their last meeting, they claimed a thumping 5-0 victory away at Deportiva Minera, securing a place in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey.

Mallorca

Mallorca have been enjoying a seriously impressive season in La Liga. Under the tutelage of Jagoba Arrasate, they have become a formidable force, climbing to sixth place in the rankings after amassing 30 points from 19 games. They are sitting just six points behind fourth-ranked Athletic Bilbao.

Los Bermellones’ overall season has been going quite well, but they have hit a rough patch in recent weeks, losing three of their last five matches in all competitions. In their previous outing, Mallorca suffered a shock 3-0 defeat to Segunda Federacion side Pontevedra in the Copa del Rey Round of 32.
