Simon Jordan Insists Elon Musk Can Buy Liverpool For ‘Chump Change’ After Reports He Would Love To Buy The Club

Simon Jordan has responded to reports that Elon Musk would ‘love’ to complete a takeover of Liverpool.
Speaking to Kait Borsay on Times Radio, Errol Musk revealed his son – the world’s richest man – has ‘expressed a desire’ in the Premier League leaders.
“Does your son want to buy Liverpool football club?” Borsay asked.
“I can’t comment on that, they’ll raise the price. I can’t comment on that,” Errol jokingly responded.
She enquired: “Has he expressed a desire to buy Liverpool football club?”
“Oh yes, oh yes – but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it, you know,” Errol said. “He would like to, yes. Obviously. Anyone would want to. So would I.”
Musk owns companies including Tesla, SpaceX and social media platform X.
Elon Musk Can Buy Liverpool For ‘Chump Change’
On talkSPORT, Simon Jordan responded to reports that Elon Musk would love to buy Liverpool.
He said: “Liverpool football club is a big brand. Whether he can buy it or not is a different thing.
“Ultimately we’re seeing him doing the dance on social media whether it’s taking pots shot at Kier Starmer or Jess Phillips. Or whether he’s taking pot shots at Nigel Farage and potentially putting money into Reform or whatever else.
“I mean there is an interesting dynamic there as he’s not holding back with some of his opinions.
“But he can buy Liverpool out of Trump change. Ultimately whether John Henry wants to sell it, Fenway Sports Group want to sell it is a different matter.’
Host Jim White jokingly asked Jordan whether Musk knows about the profit and sustainability rules in football.
Jordan responded: “Well there you are and neither should he be because most people shouldn’t be impressed by it because it’s a dog’s dinner.
“I would be surprised if Elon Musk buys Liverpool Football Club but you never know with this guy.”
Musk’s Worth
Amid reports linking him with wanting to buyout Liverpool, Elon Musk is worth an estimated $418billion.
In recent times he has emerged as Donald Trump‘s right-hand man over the last few months, reportedly donating around $270million to the Republican party.
When asked why Musk is specifically interested in Liverpool, his father revealed that his family have generational ties to the Merseyside city.
“His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we had relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family. So, we are attached to Liverpool, you know,” he told Times Radio.
