Ahead of Saturday’s clash at Bramall Lane, we have the Sheffield United vs Preston preview, prediction, latest team news and predicted lineups.

Sheffield United Vs Preston Preview

Sheffield United remain on Leeds’ tale after their 2-1 victory at QPR last week. Ben Brereton Diaz and Tyrese Campbell netted the decisive goals in West London.

The Blades reduced the gap at the top of the table to three points. They certainly have West Brom to thank as they held the Whites to a 1-1 draw at Elland Road.

Chris Wilder’s side are on track for an immediate Premier League return and they can boost those chances with another win on Saturday afternoon.

In the reverse fixture, the South Yorkshire side ran out 2-0 winners on the opening weekend of the season. Oli Arblaster and Gustavo Hamer netted at Deepdale.

United find themselves in a rich vein of form in recent weeks. The only blemish in the last six outings came in the home game against Daniel Farke’s table toppers on February 24.

Preston will still be buzzing after their brilliant 3-0 win against Preston in the FA Cup last weekend. However, they followed that up with a goalless draw against Swansea in the week.

Paul Heckingbottom has done a valiant job so far at Deepdale. North End are currently 15th with 43 points to their name going into the clash.

Heckingbottom was actually the man who led the Blades to promotion in 2022/23 before being replaced by Chris Wilder. He’ll likely receive a positive reception from the home fans.

The Lilywhites are without a win in the league since beating Norwich 1-0 in February. Not many will be backing a win on Saturday but with Heckingbottom in the dugout, it can’t be completely ruled out.

Ahead of the match, the best football betting sites in the UK price Sheffield United as the 8/11 favourites. Preston can be backed at 9/2 with the draw 3/1.

Sheffield United Vs Preston Team News

Harry Clarke, Oli Arblaster and Alfie Gilchrist remain out for Sheffield United. It’s likely that Chris Wilder will stick with the same XI who beat QPR last weekend.

Tyrese Campbell is expected to lead the line after netting the second goal at Loftus Road. He should be ed by Gustavo Hamer, Callum O’Hare and Ben Brereton Diaz.

Meanwhile, Preston will have to make do without Jordan Storey, Jack Whatmough, Ben Whiteman, Duane Holmes, Mads Frokjaer-Jensen and Stefan Thordarson.

Ali McCann is also a doubt after coming off against Swansea on Tuesday night. Top scorer Milutin Osmajic is expected to lead the line up top.

Sheffield United Vs Preston Predicted Lineups

Sheffield United (4-2-3-1): Cooper; Seriki, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Burrows; Peck, Souza; Brereton Diaz, O’Hare, Hamer; Campbell

Preston (3-4-1-2): Woodman; Porteous, Lindsay, Gibson; Kesler-Hayden, Potts, Ledson, Brady; Greenwood; Keane, Osmajic

Sheffield United Vs Preston Prediction

We are predicting a comfortable home win on Saturday. Sheffield United will be too hot for Preston to handle owing to the quality the Blades boast.

North End have a large injury list which won’t aid their cause.

Prediction: Sheffield United 2-0 Preston
