Watch the highlights from the Steel City Derby as Rhian Brewster’s strike secured a vital 1-0 win for Sheffield United over Sheffield Wednesday.

Despite a nervy and tetchy affair that saw six yellow cards brandished, Sheffield United once again proved why they are the best away side in the division, grinding out a sixth consecutive victory on the road.

Meanwhile, Wednesday’s home struggles continued, with their poor form at Hillsborough leaving them with the second-worst home record in the league.

Danny Rohl’s side started strongly, and Michael Smith had a golden chance to put Wednesday ahead when he connected with Ryo Hatsuse’s cross, only for United goalkeeper Michael Cooper to pull off a brilliant save.

The game remained tense, with a heated moment erupting when Callum Paterson kicked the ball at Ben Brereton Diaz as he lay on the ground after a foul by Barry Bannan.

Sheffield United’s Tyrese Campbell was a persistent threat, narrowly missing an opportunity early on and later being denied by James Beadle’s quick reactions.

The breakthrough finally came when Campbell raced onto a Sydie Peck , breezed past Michael Ihiekwe, and delivered a cross that deflected into the path of Rhian Brewster, who slotted home his third goal of the season.

Wednesday had one final chance to salvage a draw when Marvin Johnson’s volley was parried into the path of substitute Svante Ingelsson. However, the Swede could only fire his effort over the bar, leaving the Owls frustrated.

Brewster’s second-half strike brings the Blades level on points with Championship leaders Leeds and completes their first league double over the Owls since the 2005/06 season.

The win at Hillsborough not only strengthens United’s promotion push but also dents Wednesday’s hopes of securing a play-off spot. The Owls now sit six points off the top six with eight games left to play.
