Latest Update On Sheamus’ Absence from WWE TV and Why He’s Not on the WrestleMania 41 Card

Why isn’t Sheamus wrestling at WrestleMania 41? Here’s everything we know about his absence.
Despite being one of WWE’s longest-tenured and most decorated Superstars, Sheamus is not currently d for a match at WrestleMania 41.
The Celtic Warrior has been largely absent from WWE television in the lead-up to the biggest weekend of the wrestling calendar, and fans have been left wondering: what’s going on?
Sheamus Last WWE Appearance
Sheamus last appeared on WWE TV at the 2025 Royal Rumble. Since then, his absence from weekly programming sparked speculation about possible injury, creative issues, or even a quiet break from the spotlight.
While not on TV, Sheamus did return for WWE’s European live tour in March, working matches in Belfast and Nottingham against Bron Breakker for the Intercontinental Championship — both in losing efforts.
That was on March 22 and 23, with Sheamus referring to the Belfast bout as the “start of [his] Road to WrestleMania” on social media.
Despite that, no match has materialised for him at Mania.
Is Sheamus Available for WrestleMania?
On April 10, Sheamus tweeted simply: “I’m available.”

While he didn’t name anyone directly, the timing of the tweet — just days after rumours of Randy Orton seeking a Mania opponent — led many to speculate about a potential Sheamus vs Orton match.
The two men have a rich history, including WWE Championship bouts during the early 2010s. Their last one-on-one TV encounter came in September 2015.
At this point, though, a match between the two seems unlikely unless added at the last minute or as a surprise.
Why Isn’t Sheamus on the WrestleMania 41 Card?
There’s no official explanation from WWE or Sheamus. However, multiple factors could explain his absence:
Lingering injuries: Experts and fans have speculated about possible nagging injuries from Sheamus’ hard-hitting wrestling style, which could be why he took time off earlier this year.
Creative limbo: WWE might be holding Sheamus back for a more impactful return storyline after Mania.
Personal time: Social media posts suggest he’s been travelling — spotted in Ireland, Rome, and Liverpool — hinting at a possible personal break from the weekly grind.
Miscalculated return: In February, Sheamus itted in an interview that even he found out about his return from a promo package — suggesting potential breakdowns in communication backstage.

Will Sheamus Appear at WrestleMania?
While it seems unlikely Sheamus will appear at WrestleMania 41, there’s still a chance Sheamus makes it onto the WrestleMania SmackDown card by entering the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
It would be a bittersweet consolation prize, but one that fits the tone WWE has often taken with the Andre – rewarding respected veterans or giving rising stars a spotlight.
A win for Sheamus would be a fitting way to acknowledge his contributions and possibly set him up for a renewed push post-Mania.
What’s Next for Sheamus?
In January 2025, Sheamus signed a new five-year WWE deal, indicating he’s not going anywhere soon. While his Mania absence is disappointing for fans, it doesn’t appear to signal the end — far from it.
Whether it’s a post-Mania return, a late surprise match, or an eventual Intercontinental Championship run (the one title he’s yet to win), Sheamus seems intent on delivering more “bangers” before calling it a career.
