Here’s our Scotland Vs Wales preview, prediction, team news and confirmed lineups ahead of Saturday’s Six Nations round four fixture at Murrayfield.

Scotland Vs Wales Preview

Saturday’s Six Nations clash between Scotland and Wales is a fascinating one.

Despite hoping to mount a title challenge, Scotland’s opening weekend victory against Italy was followed by defeats to Ireland and England.

These losses mean that Gregor Townsend’s side are unlikely to finish higher than third at best – having never finished in the top two during the Six Nations era.

At the start of the tournament, Wales looked down and out. A 43-0 hammering in Paris followed by a 22-14 defeat to Italy in Rome has left them bottom of the table.

But with Warren Gatland leaving as head coach, interim boss Matt Sherratt oversaw a much-improved performance against Ireland.

Although ultimately losing 27-18, Wales looked far better and put the champions under huge pressure.

However, they will face another huge challenge if they wish to beat Scotland in Edinburgh and end their record-breaking losing streak, which now stands at 15 tests.

Ahead of the match, the best UK rugby betting sites have Scotland as comfortable favourites.

The hosts can be backed at 1/7, with Wales 7/1 outsiders.

Scotland Vs Wales Team News

Scotland:

Gregor Townsend has made just one change to the side which lost 16-15 to England last time out.

Winger Darcy Graham returns to the starting XV after recovering from a nasty head-on-head collision with teammate Finn Russell during the loss to Ireland.

Kyle Rowe therefore drops the the bench as the rest of the Scotland team are given the chance to make up for recent results.

Pierre Schoeman, Dave Cherry and Zander Fagerson start in the front row, with Jonny Gray and Grant Gilchrist behind them.

Scotland’s impressive back row trio of Ritchie, Darge and Dempsey continue together.

The back line has a familiar feel to it with Ben White and Russell as the halfbacks.

Tom Jordan starts at 12 again alongside Huw Jones, who has been superb this tournament.

In the back three, the returning Darcy Graham s the ever-present Duhan van der Merwe and Blair Kinghorn.

Wales:

Wales have named an unchanged starting XV for the first time since the 2019 World Cup.

After an impressive showing against Ireland, interim coach Matt Sherratt has backed his side to perform once again.

Nicky Smith, Elliot Dee and WillGriff John form a front row which caused Ireland huge problems at the scrum.

Will Rowlands and Dafydd Jenkins once again link up in the engine room, while skipper Jac Morgan and Tommy Reffell are on the flanks alongside Taulupe Faletau at eight.

In the backs, Gareth Asncombe has shaken off a head knock to start at ten, with Tomos Williams again playing scrum-half.

Max Llewellyn and Ben Thomas make up the midfield, while the back three consists of Scarlets trio Tom Rogers, Ellis Mee and Blair Murray.

Josh Adams is ruled out with a hamstring problem, but hooker Dewi Lake returns to the bench for his first appearance since the autumn.

Scotland Vs Wales Prediction

Before Wales’ heroic effort in defeat against Ireland, you’d have bet your house on a Scottish win.

However, if Matt Sherratt can get a similar performance from his players on Saturday, it could be very close.

We still think the Scots will get the job done on home soil, just. But this one doesn’t look like being the blowout some predicted a few weeks ago.

Prediction: Scotland 27-23 Wales
