He’s not disappointed either – having already fired in FOUR winners at the meeting and has now incredibly won 17 of his last 21 rides for trainer Aidan O’Brien at Chester (more on that below).

Ryan Moore Chester Rides Sees Top Jockey With a Stack Of Top Mounts

Jockey Ryan Moore and trainer Aidan O’Brien have combined to win many of the top races at the Chester May Festival over the years and the top duo are back for more this week as the three day meeting starts on Wednesday and climaxes with the Chester Cup on Friday – a race Moore has won twice in the past.

Moore fired in two winners on the opening day when Minnie The Hawk took the Cheshire Oaks (watch below) and Lambourn landed the Chester Vase.

Plus another two on Thursday when Illinois won the Ormonde Stakes and Mount Kilimanjaro took the Dee Stakes.

Wins that increased his overall track SR to an incredible 50% and 60% when riding only 3 year-olds (15-25).

This remarkable run has also seen Ryan Moore win a staggering 17 of his last 21 rides for trainer Aidan O’Brien at Chester (see below) – as he heads into Friday.

Ryan Moore Expected To Ride Leinster In The Chester Cup On Friday

In addition to Moore having won all the big Group races at the Chester May Festival (see his record below), he’s also racked-up two wins in the Chester Cup.

His most-recent success in the race came on the Aidan O’Brien-trained Cleveland in the 2022 renewal.

With his first back in 2014 on the Marco Botti runner Suegioo.

He’ll be trying to make it three this Friday as he’s already been booked to ride the Joseph O’Brien-trained Leinster.

This 4 year-old has only raced four times but has won 50% of those races – with the most recent coming last time out at the Curragh at the end of March.

That win came over 1m4f, so the longer 2m 2f trip of the Chester Cup will be an unknown, but he’s out of Derby winner Camelot so should have plenty of scope for more to come.

Last year’s Chester Cup was won by the Hugo Palmer-trained Zoffee (watch below), who is also back for more. But at the age of 9, the Chester Cup trends suggest he might be too old.
