Ryan Garcia believes Terence Crawford would have no chance against Canelo Alvarez, as the two continue to be rumoured with a superfight.
Ryan Garcia Slams Terence Crawford In Canelo Fight Prediction
The controversial boxing star has been back in the headlines after a scathing rant towards Devin Haney, an opponent he’s beaten in the past.
However, this victory was slightly tainted after Garcia failed a drugs test post-fight and he also came into the fight overweight.
Despite this, Garcia’s performance against Haney was enough to shock boxing fans after dominating from start-to-finish and winning via decision.
Many were skeptical of the 26-year-old’s preparation for the fight against Haney and in a recent interview he was involved in before his fight with Rolly Romero, Garcia revealed the negative things he was doing before his victory.
Garcia said: “I was doing everything – gambling, drinking, women; whatever I wanted to do. I was just destroying my soul, just destroying my spirit. Everything took a toll on me.
“My family wanted me to get help and they tried as best as they can but when you are in that state, you aren’t listening.
“When you have everything you want at your disposal, it’s not for everybody. I have an addictive personality so, when I got going, I got going and just took it to a whole other place.”
Haney is also fighting on the card involving Garcia, meaning if both fighters pick up a victory then we should get a highly-anticipated rematch.
Garcia has also sparked some controversy for his comments over the possible fight between Terence Crawford and Canelo Alvarez.
The two boxing stars were heavily rumoured to be facing off under Riyadh season, but an agreement could not be made and they are both now looking elsewhere.
However, Garcia believes that this failed negotiation could be a blessing in disguise for Crawford, as the 26-year-old believes Bud would have no chance.
Garcia said: “Crawford can’t beat Canelo. He didn’t look that strong against Madrimov, and Madrimov isn’t even a big (threat).
The thing with Canelo is that he’s mastered his style. He understands what’s going on in the ring at all times. I just don’t see him beating Canelo.”
