Andrew found Clonmel winner LAZER WOLF on Tuesday and has two more stats-based picks on Wednesday, December 4th…

LUDLOW 12.28

DESPEREAUX (system – Jane Williams, December handicappers)

Jane Williams has a solid record with her handicappers in the month of December, scoring with 14 of the 88 qualifiers since 2018 for a profit of £18.26 to a £1 level stake at SP.

She also does well when using first-time cheekpieces and DESPEREAUX gets the headgear in this conditional jockeys’ handicap hurdle.

The five-year-old hasn’t shown much in three starts this autumn but all came on left-handed tracks and he might improve for the return to a right-handed venue – his record this way round reads 1310734 (2-7), improving to 1134 (2-4) in Class 4 or lower company (he runs at Class 5 level today).

HAYDOCK 1.10

HEROS DE ROMAY (system – Kim Bailey, early-season break-returners)

Since 2021, Kim Bailey has a fine record from October to December with horses returning from a break of 150 days or longer, scoring with 35 of the 135 qualifiers (25.9% strike-rate) for a profit of £53.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 22.41, A/E = 1.56).

HEROS DE ROMAY, two from two on his seasonal debuts, can defy the absence on his chase debut.
