Harry Derham has a fine record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 23 of the 59 qualifiers for a profit of £56.45 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 14.31, A/E = 1.61). In handicaps only the score is 15 from 29 for a profit of £43.60 (expected winners = 7.48, A/E = 2.01). NO NO TANGO was an eight-race maiden for Charlie Longsdon but the change of stable might bring about improvement.

LASER FOCUS (system – James Owen, last time out winners, hurdles, top two in the betting)

James Owen has a 22 from 54 record in hurdle races with his last time out winners and backing them all would have returned a profit of £9.41 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who started in the front two in the betting were 21 from 36 for a profit of £19.41. Hat-trick seeking LASER FOCUS, the 5-4 favourite at the time of writing, bolted up at Fakenham last week and is likely to prove hard to beat.
