FONTWELL 2.30
On paper, LEADING SWOOP’s patient running style is not ideal for Fontwell’s chase course – a track that favours front-runners – but he has a good record here over trips shy of three miles, recording form figures of 223 (0-3), with the first runner-up effort by a short head (hurdles) and the other by less than two lengths (fences).
The third place came last time out at 14-1 on ground that was faster than ideal and the step back up from 2m3.5f to 2m5.5f will suit. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back LEADING SWOOP in Fontwell 2.30
SOUTHWELL 6.00
KYLIAN impressed in a 5f Class 2 handicap at Newcastle last time, scoring by a length and three-quarters from Malc and clocking a fast time in the process. That smooth success made it two from two on the all-weather for Archie Watson’s three-year-old, with the other victory – also over 5f at Newcastle – by four lengths.
He’s only had one all-weather start since gelded and could have further improvement to come. The son of Invincible Spirit should have no problems with the switch to Southwell and looks nicely drawn in stall 6. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back KYLIAN in Southwell 6.00
