Pras returns with his latest set of FPL tips for Blank Gameweek 29, this week focusing on players you should consider if you’re using the Free Hit chip.

I’m Pras, and welcome to my weekly series for FPL, I have achieved four top 10k finishes, including two top 5k finishes. My seasonal average over the last seven seasons is around 21k. I am currently ranked 3k.

This week, I’ve made a shortlist of the best picks for Gameweek 29, with a slightly shorter-term lens, as there are plenty of people on Free Hit.

FPL Gameweek 29 Tips: Free Hit Special

Defenders

Josko Gvardiol has scored more goals over the season than any other defender. Moreover, thanks to the arrivals of Khusanov and Nico Gonzalez, Man City do look a more compact side. In fact, City have conceded just three goals in their last four games, despite facing Newcastle, Liverpool, Spurs and Forest.

Gabriel would certainly make my Free Hit team. Arsenal remain the top defence in the league on most underlying statistics. A largely rested team against PSV face a Chelsea team that played on Thursday and is lacking a real cutting edge without Nicolas Jackson.

Nikola Milenkovic – With back-to-back clean sheets recorded against Manchester City and Arsenal, the Forest defence continue to deliver excellent output. Any of Aina, Neco Williams, Murillo or Milenkovic work, but the Serbian is my pick of the bunch for his threat from corners. If looking at goalkeepers, I also like Sels for a nice combination of clean sheet potential and save points.

Ait-Nouri – With three shots and four key es across his last four starts, he is my budget pick-up in defence. Southampton are the worst team for set-piece shots conceded, and since Cunha’s absence, he has taken over some of those duties as well.

Midfielders

Bruno Fernandes, fresh from his Europa League hat-trick, has four attacking returns in three Premier League matches, with six shots and seven chances created. He may even play in the more advanced role, with rests for Ugarte and Eriksen midweek. Leicester are on a run of 21 games without a clean sheet.

Bryan Mbeumo is a good pick most weeks. Bournemouth away is not at all an easy fixture though. The Cherries have conceded just 10 goals on home turf all season, the t-fewest in the top-flight.

Kluivert and Semenyo are both excellent choices this week. Bournemouth’s home form is excellent, having beaten Man City, Arsenal, Spurs and Forest at home. These two also feel safest for minutes.

Gibbs-White has 13 attacking returns in his last 14 starts and is a decent pickup as a second attacker from Forest. Not my top option though, because Forest aren’t the most free-flowing attack, and I feel backing the 4 options above could be better.

Forwards

Somewhat under the radar, Erling Haaland has produced nine attacking returns over the last 10 gameweeks. Brighton are a decent team that will give City a game. However, relatively speaking, this is a week where there is no Salah and Palmer is away to Arsenal. Erling feels to me like the best captaincy shout this week.

Chris Wood is on a run of no goals in his last three Premier League matches. However, he has produced three goals and two assists in his last five away matches, blanking only once at Bournemouth.

Evanilson – see the Bournemouth midfielder section above. You can’t have too many Bournemouth attackers this week!
