Pingreen Doubles Up On Liverpool Stars And Includes Everton Forward In His FPL Gamweek 24 Tips

FPL Pingreen is back with his latest round of FPL gameweek 24 tips. This week, he is looking at Everton and Liverpool stars ahead of the rearranged Merseyside derby.
Hello FPL fans! My name is Pingreen (SportsCasting. I finished 700th in the world in 2022/23 and ranked 1,330th last season, so make sure you take my advice seriously.
The first Double Gameweek of the season is here. It’s just a shame one of the two teams involved is Everton.
FPL Gameweek 24 Tips
Captain Pick
Mohamed Salah – £13.7m – BOU (A) EVE (A)
I’m not captaining Mohamed Salah this Gameweek. I’m triple captaining him. This is the most obvious captain pick I’ve ever been asked to write.
Salah is the best player in the Premier League right now. He’s scored the most goals, provided the most assists, and has the highest xGI per 90.
There is no argument in my mind. This week, he has two games – one of which is against Everton. I think you’d be insane not to stick the armband on him. And the only question you should have is whether you activate the triple captain chip (if you still have it).
The Bournemouth half of the double is far from ideal. But I still think the chip is worth using as there is no guarantee the best player in the Premier League has another double Gameweek this season.
Defender
Trent Alexander-Arnold – £7.3 – BOU (A) EVE (A)
My defender pick this week is almost as easy as my captain pick. If you don’t already have Trent Alexander-Arnold in your side ahead of Gameweek 24 – getting him in should be an absolute priority.
The right back is averaging an insane 0.40 xGI per 90 this season. To put that into perspective it’s more than Justin Kluivert and Chris Wood who have been scoring goals for fun at the top end of the pitch all season long.
For a right-back to be putting up similar underlying numbers is almost unheard of – other than Trent doing it himself in previous seasons.
He should probably be in your team due to those incredible numbers anyway, but he absolutely needs to be for this double Gameweek.
One of his opponents in the double, Everton, have only scored 16 goals all season. That’s the second lowest in the league, only behind Southampton.
Liverpool have conceded the least number of goals in the league. A great combination for a clean sheet before you even get to the second fixture and attacking return potential.

Midfielder
Bryan Mbeumo – £7.8m – TOT (H)
I wanted to try and get one player in my picks this week who isn’t from one of the two sides with a Double Gameweek. Outside of a certain Egyptian, I’m not overly sold on any midfielders from Liverpool or Everton.
I am always sold on Bryan Mbeumo however, who is my midfield pick this week. I honestly believe if Mbeumo had a better head of hair he’d be linked with a move to a top club by now.
He consistently delivers in the Premier League, and is now up to 17 goal contributions on the season. That only trails Salah, Isak, Haaland and Palmer.
He also has the bonus of penalties, he’s so good at them that even when he misses they give him a retake to put things right.
This week he plays a woeful Tottenham side, with many wondering how Ange Postecoglou is still employed. Spurs are without a win in their last 7 Premier League games. Just when I thought it couldn’t get anymore embarrassing for them they even managed to find a way to lose to Leicester.
They’re giving up 1.67 xGC per 90 on the season, and with their defence in tatters I’m backing Bryan to have a big day.
Forward
Iliman Ndiaye – £5.5 – LEI (H) LIV (H)
Yes, I’ve insulted Everton a lot this season – even in this very article when I talked about Salah and Alexander-Arnold being essential picks this week.
But I love a Double Gameweek punt, sue me. My forward pick, Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye, comes into the Double Gameweek full of confidence after scoring in his last two Premier League outings.
I know this because he’s been on my bench for both of said games. I’d struggle to talk up any Everton player too much, but both of their games in the double are at home, and the first one is a fantastic fixture against Leicester City.
Despite their win against Spurs last week, Leicester are still really bad, and their 1.92 xGC this campaign is enough to make any striker look attractive.
Add an extra fixture to that, and boom – you have a differential pick with a lot of upside for the Double Gameweek.
