Now, reports are circulating that the Magomed Ankalaev vs Alex Pereira rematch could go down at UFC 319 later in 2025.

Given how Pereira was a long-reigning UFC champion having made several defences, it comes as no surprise to learn that the Brazilian is being granted an immediate rematch with Ankalaev after losing the 205-pound belt.

Pereira confirmed that he fought at UFC 313 with an injury, but didn’t want to use it as an excuse when asked about it on The Ariel Helwani Show this past week.

UFC President Dana White will be hopeful of making this Ankalaev vs Pereira rematch too, given that it is one of the biggest fights to make now with a narrative to sell pay-per-views too.

At the end of the day, Alex Pereira remains one of the biggest stars in the entire UFC, despite losing his belt. If he could win it back and the UFC 319 rumours are true, then his stardom could grow even further.
