Barcelona star Pedri has sent a warning to arch-rivals and Copa del Rey final opponents Real Madrid, declaring that the Blaugrana fear no team.

After playing out a thrilling 4-4 draw with Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg at the end of February, Barcelona sealed a comfortable 1-0 victory in Wednesday’s (2 April) second leg. Ferran Torres scored the winning goal in the 27th minute at the Metropolitano Stadium.

Barcelona will face their bitterest foes, Real Madrid — who beat Real Sociedad 5-4 on aggregate — in the Copa del Rey final at La Cartuja in Seville on 26 April.

Speaking to Diario Sport after their win over Atletico Madrid, Pedri said Barcelona were confident but not complacent.

We don’t feel unbeatable because we’ve lost a few matches. There are always things to improve; we always do, and we also have to be self-critical about the things we do wrong, but we’re in great form and have confidence at the moment,” said Pedri.

The Spaniard then discussed the Copa del Rey final with Real Madrid, saying Barca had no reason to be afraid of any team, including the reigning Spanish and European champions.

We’re happy to get to another final. Let’s play and try to win it. What we want is to excite the fans. A final against Real Madrid, clearly they are not going to be easy for us,” Pedri added on the Barcelona vs Real Madrid Copa meeting.

It’s clear we don’t have to be afraid of any team. We’re Barca, and we’re going to try to control the game against everyone, but it won’t be easy. Hopefully, we’ll have a game like the ones we have had against them.

Barcelona have beaten Real Madrid in both their meeting in the 2024-25 season. In October, Barca humiliated Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, claiming a thumping 4-0 victory in La Liga. Again in January, they inflicted a 5-2 defeat upon them, winning the Supercopa de Espan at their expense.

Over the years, the two heavyweights have met 259 times in all competitions. The Catalans have won 102, Madrid 106, while 51 games have ended all square.
