A trailer for the Netflix docies WWE: Unreal has revealed WWE’s internal match ideas for the Grandest Stage of Them All.

Netflix Trailer Leaks Original WrestleMania 41 Plans

In the teaser for WWE: Unreal, Triple H is seen discussing event strategy at WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.

On a whiteboard beside him, fans quickly noticed what appeared to be the early creative plans for WrestleMania 41. The match lineup reveals some eye-catching possibilities that never made it to the final card.

WWE WrestleMania 41 Leaked Match Card

While not every match is clearly visible, several major bouts pitched for WrestleMania 41 appear on the board. Here’s a breakdown of the matches originally considered:

  • Cody Rhodes vs John Cena – Undisputed WWE Championship

  • Roman Reigns vs CM Punk or Seth Rollins

  • CM Punk or Seth Rollins vs GUNTHER – World Heavyweight Championship

  • Rhea Ripley vs Bianca Belair – Women’s World Championship

  • Jade Cargill vs Nia Jax – WWE Women’s Championship

  • Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens

  • The Wyatt Sicks vs The Judgment Day

  • Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs IYO SKY & Asuka – Women’s Tag Match

  • AJ Styles vs Logan Paul

  • Bad Bunny vs Dominik Mysterio

  • Bron Breakker vs Drew McIntyre

  • Rey Mysterio (with Travis Scott) vs Chad Gable

These potential matchups were reportedly drawn up around December 2024 to early January 2025—before major storylines such as Tiffany Stratton’s Money in the Bank cash-in or Jey Uso winning the Royal Rumble.

Why Did WWE Change WrestleMania 41 Plans?

According to reports from Fightful Select and PWInsider, many of these WrestleMania 41 matches were never finalised. Injuries and evolving creative directions caused key changes:

  • Bo Dallas (Uncle Howdy) was sidelined, leading to the scrapping of Wyatt Sicks vs The Judgment Day.

  • Jade Cargill vs Nia Jax was replaced after Tiffany’s cash-in, and Cargill was put against Naomi.

  • Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens was initially planned, but Owens’ injury led Orton to request a match with Joe Hendry.

  • Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch vs Damage CTRL (IYO SKY & Asuka) was discussed but not officially pitched to talent.

The Creative Process Behind WrestleMania

The Netflix series WWE: Unreal offers fans a behind-the-scenes look at WWE’s most pivotal creative decisions, including how Triple H and his team shaped the WrestleMania 41 card.

The whiteboard leak has given fans a rare glimpse into WWE’s booking process and the internal debates that shape sports entertainment’s biggest stage.
