The latest Ola Aina transfer news has indicated that Manchester City are plotting to swoop for the Nottingham Forest star.

Aina has been a standout performer in the Premier League this season. He is seen as a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker.

Nigerian international Aina has been ever-present for Forest in 2024/25 and has helped the club up to second position. Along the way, Aina has scored two goals and kept an impressive eight clean sheets.

Aina starred once again as the Tricky Trees beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park on Sunday. The 28-year-old is understood to be happy at the City Ground.

However, the lure of playing for City may tempt Aina into new ventures. More worryingly for boss Nuno Espirito Santo, Aina is free to talk to potential suitors in January.

His contract expires in June 2025 and Santo will be keen to tie down the right-back on new and improved . Furthermore, the lure of UEFA Champions League football next season may sway Aina’s decision to pen a new deal in NG2.

Ola Aina Transfer News Reveals Manchester City Interest

According to The Sun, Ola Aina is being considered as a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker. The latter is in his twilight years and has struggled for form this season.

Manchester City are expected to make a number of transfers at the end of the season and Walker will likely be moved on to accommodate the potential arrival of Aina.

Something of which will tempt Pep Guardiola into pursuing Aina further is the 28-year-old’s ability to play on either flank of defence.

Additionally, Aina is very much in his prime years and would likely slot straight into City’s starting XI. His solid and astute performances this season will see plenty of interest generated in Aina.

Nonetheless, City will likely identify other targets and may splash the cash in January. The faltering champions are desperate for an upturn in form.

Savinho and Erling Haaland scored in a fine 2-0 away win against Leicester on Sunday as the Cityzens aim to climb the table.

According to the best football betting sites in the UK, City are 8/13 to finish in the top four. It’s currently 40/1 for City to win the 2024/25 title.
