Xabi Alonso Favourite In The Next Real Madrid Manager Betting Odds Market
Real Madrid will be keeping an eye on contenders to replace Carlo Ancelotti, so the SportsCasting traders, along with the best football betting sites in the UK, have priced up the candidates – with Xabi Alonso the favourite at 6/4.
The Spaniard was heavily linked with Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp announced his Anfield exit last year – though Alonso opted to remain at Bayer Leverkusen for another season.
Alonso is one of the most sought-after managers in world football thanks to his excellent work at the Bundesliga side. He guided them to an unbeaten title-winning campaign last season, with their Europa League final loss to Atalanta the only defeat they had in any competition.
The 43-year-old has an affinity with Real Madrid after making over 230 appearances for Los Blancos between 2009 and 2015.
To many, he is the standout candidate for this role, and it is a job that could be too big to turn down for Alonso if Madrid do come calling.
Could Jurgen Klopp Return To Management At Real Madrid?
Jurgen Klopp is the second favourite in the next Real Madrid manager betting odds market.
Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season after winning a host of honours, including the club’s first league title in 30 years and also the 2019 Champions League.
He has been the head of global soccer for the Red Bull football group since January but is reportedly unhappy in the role.
Klopp has apparently said he would only return to management for two jobs: the Brazil national team – and, intriguingly, Real Madrid.
Klopp’s glittering CV would appeal to the Real hierarchy and he is 4/1 to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
Simone Inzaghi A Strong Candidate For The Job
Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi is another strong contender in the next Real Madrid manager betting odds market.
Inzaghi has done an exceptional job at the Serie A side, whom he has managed since July 2021.
He has guided the club to one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias and three Italian Super Cups, and he led them to the 2023 Champions League final where they lost to Manchester City.
Inter have become one of the strongest teams in Europe under Inzaghi, so it would not be a surprise if Real made an approach for the former Lazio striker.
Unai Emery Among Other Contenders According To The Next Real Madrid Odds
An interesting name who figures prominently in the next Real Madrid manager betting market is Aston Villa boss Unai Emery.
The Spaniard has succeeded in making Villa a force again in the Premier League and led them on a brilliant Champions League campaign that only ended after they ran Paris St-Germain very close.
Former Real Madrid managers Zinedine Zidane (10/1) and Jose Mourinho (16/1) are also listed.
And there are prices for a number of current and former Premier League managers, including Mikel Arteta (8/1), Erik ten Hag (20/1), Andoni Iraola (28/1) and legendary former Barcelona player and manager Pep Guardiola (33/1).
