The Red Devils appointed Ruben Amorim in November 2024, but after a poor start to his tenure the traders at SportsCasting have priced up the next Manchester United manager betting odds – and there’s a familiar face at the head of the market.

With further pressure coming Amorim’s way after losing to Tottenham in the 2025 Europa League Final and currently 16th in the Premier League – the next Man Utd manager market is getting a lot of attention at the moment.

Jose Mourinho Favourite In The Next Manchester United Manager Odds Market

Jose Mourinho

Ruben Amorim has also since come out after their Europa League Final defeat to Spurs that if the fans and/or the Manchester United board don’t want him – he’ll leave in the summer.

But who might replace Amorim in the Red Devil’s dugout if he does depart?

If things don’t work out for Old Trafford boss Ruben Amorim, the SportsCasting traders and the best football betting sites in the UK are suggesting the next Manchester United manager could be Jose Mourinho.

In a tight market, the experts have installed Mourinho as the slight favourite in the next Man Utd manager betting odds market – in what would be a dramatic return for the Portuguese marmite man.

Mourinho is currently in charge at Turkish side Fenerbahce, while prior to that he had been at the helm at Roma between 2021 and 2024.

Of course, he also had two spells at Chelsea and has been the Tottenham manager too – while his time at Manchester United between 2016 and 2018 saw him win the League Cup and the Europa League.

So could ‘The Special One’ be ready for another spell at United?

The former United manager recently said, “Don’t get me wrong, and let’s make it very very clear, for the next two years, this season and next, no one will take me from Fenerbahce.”

A lot will rest on how new head coach Ruben Amorim does – but the former Sporting man is already feeling the heat.

Commentary: sportscasting.com/uk spokesman Andy Newton reacted to our Next Manchester United Manager Odds’ saying:

“After a torrid start to his time in the Old Trafford hotseat and with expectations high, the pressure on Ruben Amorim is not red-hot after losing in the Europa League Final to Spurs.

“There are many big names that will be waiting in the wings if Amorim’s time at United is short-lived – including former boss Jose Mourinho.

“But with Thomas Frank doing a great job at Brentford and having proven Premier League experience, then the 9/1 on offer for the Dane to replace Amorim looks the value to me.”

Could The Next Red Devils Boss Be Kieran McKenna?

Kieran McKenna

Former Manchester United assistant coach Kieran McKenna is also in contention to be the next manager at Old Trafford.

The Northern Irishman was initially hired by the Red Devils as manager of their Under 18s side but he sufficiently impressed to be promoted to the assistant manager’s role, working with Jose Mourinho.

When Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced Mourinho he retained the services of McKenna, who remained in the role until Ipswich Town offered him the manager’s job.

Two consecutive promotions followed for the Tractor Boys and last year they reached the Premier League for the first time since 2002.

McKenna has reportedly caught the attention of several Premier League clubs, including Brighton, but he rejected their offer to take over.

Gareth Southgate And Thomas Frank Also In The ‘Next Manchester United Manager’ Running

Gareth Southgate

According to the best betting sites in the UK, other names that are just behind the main players in the next Manchester United manager market are former England boss Gareth Southgate and Brentford head coach Thomas Frank.

Southgate left the England job after Euro 2024 and said he wanted some time out.

However, many are suggesting that Southgate is now ready to return, and you feel if Manchester United came knocking it would be hard for the former Crystal Palace player to say no.

Southgate was in charge of 102 England games – winning 61, drawing 24 and losing 17.

He also managed Middlesbrough between 2006 and 2009, so is no stranger to taking charge at club level.

Thomas Frank has also caught the eye during his time at Brentford, establishing the London side in the Premier League, and many are saying it won’t be long before a bigger club come in for him.

He’s 9/1 to be the next Manchester United manager.
