Who Has Main Evented the Most WrestleManias?

WrestleMania is the pinnacle of sports entertainment, and the main event is the most prestigious spot in the industry.

Over the years, only a select few WWE Superstars have consistently headlined the grandest stage of them all.

Roman Reigns has now main evented 10 WrestleManias, officially cementing his status as the top closer in WWE history.

Reigns competed in the main event of WrestleMania 41 Night 1 in a Triple Threat match against Seth Rollins and CM Punk, marking his 10th WrestleMania main event.

In Night Two’s main event, John Cena returned to headline his sixth WrestleMania, defeating Cody Rhodes to win the world title for a record-breaking 17th time.

Most WrestleMania Main Events

1. Roman Reigns – 10 Main Events (2015-2025)

Reigns’ main event streak began at WrestleMania 31 in 2015 against Brock Lesnar, where Seth Rollins cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

Since then, Reigns has headlined almost every WrestleMania, including high-profile battles against Lesnar (multiple times), The Undertaker, and Cody Rhodes.

Reigns main evented 2024’s grand show twice, and his latest WrestleMania 41 Night 1 main event solidifies his record-setting status.

2. Hulk Hogan – 8 Main Events (1985-1993)

For decades, Hulk Hogan held the record for the most WrestleMania main events, having headlined the inaugural event in 1985 and continuing his dominance throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s.

From his classic bouts with Andre the Giant to his title matches against The Ultimate Warrior and Sid Justice, Hogan was the face of WWE’s golden era.

Hogan main evented the first WrestleMania in a tag team match featuring Mr. T and last main evented the show in 1993.

3. Triple H – 7 Main Events (2000-2016)

A key figure in both the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era, Triple H consistently found himself in the WrestleMania spotlight.

His main event history includes showdowns against Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, John Cena, and Roman Reigns.

The Game’s cerebral, methodical wrestling style made him a formidable main event star across multiple generations.

4. The Rock – 6 Main Events (1999-2024)

The People’s Champion has been in the main event six times, including legendary encounters with Stone Cold Steve Austin and John Cena.

His return to the main event scene in 2024 added to his already impressive legacy.

Fans are hoping he has one more epic showdown left in him to face Roman Reigns in what would be a fitting closing chapter to his wrestling career.

5. John Cena – 6 Main Events (2006-2025)

John Cena headlined his sixth and final WrestleMania against Cody Rhodes in 2025.

His rivalries with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and The Rock provided some of the biggest moments in WrestleMania history.

Honourable Mentions:

  • Brock Lesnar – 5 Main Events (2003, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2022)
  • Shawn Michaels – 5 Main Events (1996, 1998, 2004, 2007, 2010)
  • The Undertaker – 5 Main Events (1997, 2008, 2010, 2017, 2020)

Most Consecutive WrestleMania Main Events

If you for both of his WrestleMania XL main events, Roman Reigns holds the record for most consecutive WrestleMania main events with six, after his 2025 showdown with Punk and Rollins.

Incredibly, Reigns has closed WrestleMania 10 times across 11 years, having only not done so in 2019 and 2020.

Reigns even had a separate four-consecutive WrestleMania main event streak from 2015 to 2018, which has only been bettered by one wrestler other than himself – Hulk Hogan.

Hogan main-evented WrestleMania five times in a row, spanning 1989-1993. In fact, Hogan closed the show eight times during the first nine WrestleManias – only not doing so at WrestleMania IV.

Cody Rhodes has now main evented four consecutive WrestleManias, ing for both his WrestleMania XL ones in 2024.

Following that, Cena, The Rock, and Triple H have each main evented three consecutive WrestleManias during their carees.

Who Has Won The Most WrestleMania Main Events?

Hulk Hogan has won the most WrestleMania main events with seven. Hogan’s only defeat in the main event of WrestleMania came to the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania VI.

Hogan is unsurprisingly followed by Reigns, who has six WrestleMania main event wins.

The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and John Cena then follow, having each won four, following Cena’s win over Cody.

Out of every Superstar to main event WrestleMania more than once, Austin is the only one to not have lost, winning all four of his show closers.
