Michael van Gerwen Hits Perfect Nine-Darter At German Darts Grand Prix

Three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen has struck perfect in his Round 3 clash with Ryan Searle at the 2025 German Darts Grand Prix.

The Dutchman defeated ‘Heavy Metal’ 6-1 to book his place in the quarter-finals of the tournament, hitting the perfect nine-dart leg in the process.

Nine-darters are of course the darting equivalent to a hole-in-one in golf or a 147-break in snooker. In today’s professional darting landscape, we see nine-darters fairly regularly given the sheer talent of the world’s best players.

It was van Gerwen’s turn in Round 3 of the German Darts Grand Prix, a tournament he has won on three previous occasions.

After taking a 3-1 lead in the fourth leg, ‘MVG’ stepped up to the oche for the fifth leg which turned out to be the perfect one for him.

The six-time Premier League Darts champion went the traditional route of 180-180-141, finishing on double 12 with his nineth dart.

This is van Gerwen’s first nine-darter since he struck perfection last year at the Hungarian Darts Trophy.

Could he go all the way in Munich and land a record fourth German Darts Grand Prix title on Monday evening?
