Miami Open 2025 Full Schedule, Prize Money, Tournament Predictions and Where to Watch Live on TV

Just as one Masters 1000 event concludes another gets underway as the world’s very best head for Florida for the second part of the ‘Sunshine Double’. Find our full-scale preview of the action, including the schedules of both draws, a look at the heavy-hitters and what the Miami Open prize money stands at for 2025.
When is the Miami Open?
Just like its western counterpart and ‘Sunshine Double’ partner Indian Wells, the Miami Open is one of the biggest non-Grand Slam events on the tennis calendar.
Proceedings get underway just two days after Mira Andreeva and Jack Draper were crowned champions in California, and both have entered the draw in an attempt to only a handful of players to clinch a Sunshine Double.
The WTA Miami Open first round begins on Tuesday 18th March, with matches starting from 15:00 GMT.
As for the men’s side of the draw, qualifiers conclude on Tuesday and first round matches are scheduled for Wednesday 19th March – also starting from 15:00 GMT.
Eventual winners will be crowned on the weekend beginning the 29th, with the women’s final on the Saturday followed by the men’s on the 30th March.
Miami Open 2025 Preview
There is plenty of intrigue swirling about Miami following a breathless Indian Wells, which threw up two first-time winners.
The men’s side of the draw is once again absent of world number one Jannik Sinner, who is helpless in retaining his crown in Miami as he serves a three-month doping ban.
That of course clears the way that little bit more for the rest of the ATP. Alexander Zverev – a semi-finalist last year – enters as the top seed while Novak Djokovic make his first appearance at Miami in six years.
Don’t be fooled however, he is certainly no stranger to this competition having won six editions across his career; one more title in Miami and he will sur Andre Agassi’s t-record tally of six.
The Serbian will be on the same side of the draw as second seed Carlos Alcaraz, who has experienced a mixed bag of results so far this season.
As for the women’s, Elena Rybakina will be hoping to tap into the kind of form that carried her all the way to the final last year, where she lost to eventual surprise champion Danielle Collins.
Mirra Andreeva’s path to a potential Sunshine Double certainly won’t be easy, but she enters off the back of consecutive Masters 1000 titles and a potentially favourable draw – which pits her in a quarter-final bracket with Jessica Pegula, Emma Navarro, and Amanda Anisimova – shows promising signs.
Iga Świątek will be vying to Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Steffi Graf as one of only four players to clinch a Sunshine Double twice, while world number one Aryna Sabalenka will need to dust herself off quickly after losing in the Indian Wells final if she is to taste success here for the first time.
The US trident of Coco Gauff, Jess Pegula and Madison Keys – all of whom occupy third, fourth and fifth in the WTA rankings – will be vying for success on home soil, and in particular Gauff, who is a Florida native.
According to UK betting sites, Carlos Alcaraz and Aryna Sabalenka are the outright favourites heading into Miami.
