Marcus Rashford has directly responded to rumours that have circulated about his Manchester United future in recent weeks.

On New Year’s Day, Rashford posted an Instagram Story reacting to the ‘ridiculous’ rumours and called out the ‘fake stories’ that have been doing the rounds.

The 27-year-old highlighted an article in The Sun whereby the outlet reported that the Red Devils winger was in talks with an agency to help fast-track his Old Trafford exit.

The agency in question is Stellar, who were behind Gareth Bale’s record-breaking £86 million move to Real Madrid in 2013.

Been a lot of false stories written over past few weeks, but guys this is getting ridiculous – never met with an agency and don’t have any plans to,” Rashford explained.

Marcus Rashford Transfer Latest

Throughout December, Marcus Rashford has fallen down the pecking order at Manchester United. The 27-year-old was surprisingly dropped alongside Alejandro Garnacho for the Manchester Derby.

Since then, Rashford missed out on the matchday squads for the Premier League fixtures against Bournemouth and Wolves. He was also absent for the League Cup defeat to Tottenham.

Rashford did earn a recall for the most recent defeat against Newcastle. However, he was an unused sub in the lacklustre 2-0 defeat.

His last appearance came against Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Europa League. The winger managed 56 minutes before he was hauled off.

Naturally, much has been made of Rashford’s Old Trafford future with manager Ruben Amorim seemingly happy to let the academy star go.

Rashford’s £325,000-per-week wages will prove a huge stumbling block for potential suitors. Therefore, a loan move in January will provide a more realistic solution.

PSG and a series of Saudi Pro League clubs are understood to remain interested in g Rashford. For now, the England winger looks set to stay at Old Trafford.

United are next up in action on January 5 when they take on fierce rivals Liverpool at Anfield. The best football betting sites in the UK have all the latest markets and odds ahead of the clash.
