The latest Manchester United transfer news is that Casemiro has reportedly decided to leave Old Trafford in the January window.

Casemiro ed United from Real Madrid in 2022 in a deal worth £60million.

The Brazilian midfielder has made over 100 appearances for the club. He also helped the club lift the FA Cup and Carabao Cup in his time at the club.

However, it appears the 32-year-old wants to bring the curtain down on his time at Old Trafford.

Manchester United Transfer News: Casemiro Wants To Leave In January

According to Brazilian outlet UOL, Casemiro has ‘agreed to leave’ the club and wants to make the move when the window opens tomorrow.

The report claims the veteran midfielder is wanted by a number of Saudi League clubs.

Casemiro’s current deal at Manchester United expires in 2026. United have the option to extend his stay by another year.

However, the report from UOL claims the Red Devils will not stand in his way of a move out of the club. It is being claimed that a destination for Casemiro has yet been decided.

The Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund are ‘determined’ to bring him to the Saudi Pro League. But the league must confirm the number of overseas players in the first team squads at the likes of Al-Hilal, Al Nassr, Al Ittihad, Al Ahli, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Qadsiah before he can move.

Casemiro would likely be welcomed at Al Nassr, given old team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo plays there.

Casemiro’s Struggles Amplified In Recent Times

Casemiro has lost his place in United’s starting XI following a number of poor performances. These have come under both Erik ten Hag and new boss Ruben Amorim.

He returned to the lineup for Gary Neville, who labelled him as one of the ‘worst Manchester United gs in recent history’.

Neville told Sky Sports: “The recruitment to be fair has been appalling for ten years and he’s been a victim of that himself.

“I think he [Ten Hag] oversaw two of the worst transfers Manchester United will ever have made in the gs of Casemiro and Antony.

“They were signed for £140-150m in a panic after the Brentford and Brighton losses. I hope I’m wrong, I hope Casemiro can do a great job for the club for four or five years and I hope Antony comes good.

“But those gs are why United have had to go back into the transfer market and sign [Manuel] Ugarte and other players.

“That was the ultimate in poor management from those above Erik ten Hag. That should have been one big fat no when those two players became available for those prices and those salaries.’
