Having lost more games then they’ve won so far in their 2024/25 league campaign, the Manchester United relegation price has been getting shorter by the game – the experts are now saying the Red Devils are more likely to face the Premier League drop than West Ham and Brentford.

Manchester United Relegation (2024/25): Could The Red Devils Drop Out Of The Premier League?

See below the main Premier League drop prices, with the Manchester United relegation prices sitting at 20/1 with the best football betting sites in the UK – with some firms even going as low as 14/1.

Of course, this Man Utd relegation market will change all the time – based on their next results and also on the other teams around them in the league.

United Have Won Just Six League Games From Their Opening 19

After 19 Premier League games played (halfway through the season), the Red Devils have won just six, drawn four and lost nine – with 22 points they are only seven away from the relegation zone.

With the Manchester United relegation price continuing to shorten – the experts are now making them a 20/1 to be relegated to the Championship – which is less than West Ham, who are 33/1.

New United boss Ruben Amorim had been expected to improve things at Old Trafford, but with six defeats already since he took over on November 24, then many are already looking to the next Manchester United manager odds market too.

Southampton, who won only once in the first half of the season from their opening 19 league games, are the favourites to go down.

With Leicester and Ipswich next best and also odds on to face the drop.

Everton and Wolves are next in the market, while despite having 31 points Manchester City are actually fifth favourites to be relgated with their financial case and the threat of a points deduction looming over them.

  • Southampton: 1/33
  • Leicester: 2/7
  • Ipswich: 4/9
  • Wolves: 2/1
  • Everton: 10/3
  • Man City: 10/1
  • Crystal Palace: 12/1
  • Man Utd: 20/1

When Did Manchester United Last Get Relegated?

In December 2024, Manchester United suffered six losing games in a calendar month – the first time this has happened since 1930.

You also have to go back to the 1973-74 season to find the last time Manchester United were relegated.

That season they finished 21st from the 22 sides in the league and went down with Norwich and Southampton.

Former United football legend Denis Law scored a back-heeled goal for rivals City versus United that season – that he didn’t celebrate, which helped his old club get relegated.

This Manchester United relegation came only six years after they won their first ever European Cup.

However, their stay outside the topflight didn’t last long – the Red Devils were promoted back to the top tier the following season. Where they’ve remained since.

They finished 11th in the 1986-87 season and 13th in the 1989-90 campaign. But this was the only time they’ve finished outside the top 10 since winning back promotion in 1974-75.
