Manchester United have suffered a double injury blow ahead of their Europa League clash with Real Sociedad – after Ruben Amorim named his 18-man travelling squad.

The Europa League represents the club’s last chance to salvage something from a miserable season.

Winning the Europa League would give them a trophy to smile about as well as qualification for next season’s Champions League – despite sitting only 14th in the Premier League table.

As is the case ahead of European games, United held an open section of training at Carrington on Wednesday morning.

Two first-team players were notable omissions from training and the Red Devils have now confirmed that they will both miss the game.

Manchester United Injury News: Ugarte And Maguire To Europa League Clash

The latest Manchester United injury news is that Manuel Ugarte and Harry Maguire will miss the first-leg of their Europa League last-16 clash with Real Sociedad.

Ugarte and Maguire were absent from training at Carrington on Wednesday morning.

United have now confirmed that the pair won’t be on the flight to Spain ahead of Thursday’s clash at the Reale Arena.

Maguire was withdrawn during the FA Cup defeat to Fulham. Ruben Amorim itted after the game that the club needed to check on the fitness of Maguire before the trip to Spain.

Manuel Ugarte has also suffered a knock meaning that he s Maguire on the Manchester United injury list.

Amorim will likely address the injuries that Maguire and Ugarte sustained during his pre-match press conference on Wednesday night.

Manchester United’s injury list ahead of the trip to Real Sociedad already includes Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Mason Mount.

Youngster Chido Obi-Martin is ineligible for the game while Altay Bayindir, Tom Heaton and Jonny Evans are also absent.
