The Premier League have issued an update on the Manchester City vs Liverpool fixture on February 23.

City came undone in the reverse fixture earlier this month after goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah gave the Reds a 2-0 win at Anfield.

Manager Pep Guardiola has come under increasing pressure owing to the Cityzens disastrous form. The Spaniard has overseen just one win in the last 11 games across all competitions.

Much has been made of the faltering champions astonishing dip in form. However, Guardiola will be hoping his side are firing on all cylinders when the Etihad clash comes about.

On Merseyside, the first meeting between the two powerhouses was given a 4pm kick-off time. That is 30 minutes earlier than the normal Super Sunday start time.

Police made the decision owing to previous hostilities between the sides inside and outside the stadium. However, last Sunday’s Manchester Derby was incident free which had the usual 4:30pm start.

Manchester City Vs Liverpool Fixture Update

Owing to the outcome of the Manchester United game, the Premier League has now confirmed the Manchester City vs Liverpool fixture will kick-off at 4:30pm on February 23.

As ever, the game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports as both sides aim to enhance their title credentials. Although, City may be too far behind by the time the clash comes around.

At the time of writing, the Cityzens are languishing in 5th spot after 16 games. Pep Guardiola’s side trail the Reds by nine points who also have a game in hand.

February promises to be a pivotal month for the faltering champions. They will face title-chasers Arsenal, a possible 4th round FA Cup tie as well as potential UEFA Champions League fixtures.

With Europe’s elite club competition in mind, Arne Slot’s side are almost certain to qualify automatically. Meaning they will face no midweek game in the build up to their Etihad clash.

According to the best football betting sites in the UK, Slot’s side are the 4/5 favourites to land the title. City can be backed as high as 16/1 to make it five in a row.
