Reigning champions Manchester City welcome Fulham to the Etihad in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, and we’ve got the latest team news and predicted lineups ahead of the action.

Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City side welcome Fulham to the North West on Saturday afternoon, where they’ll be looking to extend their excellent record against the Cottagers to keep the pressure on league leaders Liverpool.

City have won each of their last 16 matches against the West Londoners, a run that spans across more than 12 years all the way back to February 2012, which is the longest-ever winning run by one English league side against another.

The Cityzens come into this one off the back of a comfortable 4-0 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, however they have now drawn three of their last five matches across all competitions, including each of their last two Premier League fixtures.

These draws, which sandwiched a 2-1 win over Watford in the Carabao Cup, came against Arsenal two weeks back, and against Newcastle last week. City initially took the lead in both matches before eventually being held to a point.

Guardiola’s men head into the gameweek one point adrift of leaders Liverpool in second place, while Fulham sit in an impressive sixth place after recording three wins, two draws and one loss in their opening six matches.

Last time out, the Cottagers narrowly edged a then-unbeaten Nottingham Forest 1-0 to claim three points at the City Ground, which followed on from an impressive 3-1 win over Newcastle at home the week prior.

Manchester City Team News

As has been heavily reported since the draw against Arsenal last month, European Championship winner Rodri will miss the rest of the campaign for City after suffering an ACL injury.

He is ed on the sidelines by Oscar Bobb (leg), Nathan Ake (muscular) and Kevin De Bruyne (groin), who have all been ruled out until after October’s international window at the very minimum.

Youngster Rico Lewis, who has impressed massively for the Cityzens thus far this term, has been earmarked as a potential replacement for the injured Rodri in midfield, while Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan and John Stones are also options available at Guardiola’s disposal.

Fulham Team News

The visitors’ only injury concerns are Carlos Vinicius (calf) and Jorge Cuenca (ankle), who have both been ruled out of Saturday’s matchup due to their respective injuries.

Marco Silva is expected to field a similar lineup to the one that beat Forest last weekend, which should see Kenny Tete, Joachim Andersen, Calvin Bassey and Antonee Robinson start in defence ahead of Bernd Leno in goal.

Andreas Pereira, Sasa Lukic, Adama Traore, Emile Smith Rowe and Alex Iwobi could all retain their places in midfield, however Harrison Reed, Sander Berge, Harry Wilson and Reiss Nelson are all options as well.

In-form striker Raul Jimenez is almost certain to lead the line for the visitors, having scored in each of his last three top-flight matches, just days after his nomination for September’s Premier League Player of the Month award.
