Man United Vs Fulham Preview

Leicester City.

Former United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, who now manages Leicester, was particularly aggrieved because there was no VAR to overturn the linesman’s incorrect decision to keep his flag down.

But while they are still in the running to retain their FA Cup crown, United’s form has been dreadful of late.

A chaotic 3-2 win in the Premier League against 18th-placed Ipswich was their first league win in four, and only Amorim’s third Premier League victory at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are 14th in the table, barely closer to the Champions League places than the bottom three.

They are up against a Fulham side chasing European football themselves.

The West London outfit are ninth in the Premier League, four points below rivals Chelsea in fifth.

Fulham beat Watford and Wigan on their way to this weekend’s fifth round FA Cup tie. They have won four of the last five in all competitions since losing 1-0 to United in the league on 26 January.

United are the slight favourites for this one, with the best football betting sites in the UK pricing them at 6/4, while Fulham are at 2/1.

Man United Vs Fulham Team News

United’s victory against Ipswich came despite Patrick Dorgu’s first-half red card. He will now serve a three-game ban so is unavailable this weekend.

Ruben Amorim already has a lot of bodies missing, with Lisandro Martinez (ACL), Amad Diallo (ankle), Luke Shaw (calf), Jonny Evans (back) and Mason Mount (thigh) all out.

Kobbie Mainoo, Toby Collyer, Tom Heaton and Altay Bayindir are closer to returns, but none are ready to feature just yet.

Dorgu’s suspension means Noussair Mazraoui comes back into the side.

For Fulham, they too have a player suspended for Premier League games after Sasa Lukic picked up ten yellow cards.

However, the midfielder’s ban does not apply to FA Cup matches so he is free to play.

Emile Smith Rowe was a major doubt after picking up an ankle injury against Crystal Palace last week but has made the bench for the trip to Old Trafford.

Reiss Nelson (thigh), Harry Wilson (foot) and Kenny Tete (knee) are all out.

Man United Vs Fulham Prediction

United have been dreadful this season, not keeping a clean sheet at Old Trafford since 1 December.

Fulham will have no fear about attending the Theatre of Dreams, and could quickly turn it into another nightmare afternoon for the hosts.

Prediction: Man United 1-2 Fulham
