Manchester City Held to Thrilling 2-2 Draw with Brighton in High-Scoring Etihad Encounter

Watch the highlights as Man City were held to a 2-2 draw with Brighton at the Etihad Stadium in an entertaining Premier League clash on Saturday.
Manchester City, having dropped to fifth in the table, came into the game with a win-loss pattern in their last five matches.
They started brightly, taking the lead early when Erling Haaland confidently converted a penalty after Brighton’s Webster fouled Marmoush in the box.
However, Brighton quickly responded with a stunning free-kick from Pervis Estupiñán, which levelled the score at 1-1.
Just before halftime, Manchester City regained the lead when Omar Marmoush expertly found the bottom corner, making it 2-1 as the teams went into the break.
Despite City’s lead, Brighton had been the more attacking side, creating more chances and matching City’s xG, though the hosts had a slight advantage with 1.39 to Brighton’s 1.05.
The second half saw Brighton come out firing, and they were soon rewarded when Jack Hinshelwood’s shot deflected off Abdukodir Khusanov and into the net to equalise at 2-2.
Both teams had opportunities to snatch a winner, with Nico Gonzalez hitting the post for Brighton and City’s Baleba blasting a golden opportunity over the bar.

Despite Manchester City’s first-half performance, they were unable to hold onto their lead, with Brighton continuing to put pressure on their backline. The Seagulls were good value for their point after their recent run of four straight wins.
With the draw, Brighton continue their strong form and remain 7th in the table, while City are left to rue missed chances and defensive lapses.
Next, Brighton are set to host Nottingham Forest while City face Bournemouth in the Premier League, which will resume after the international break.
