Liverpool can win the Premier League title this weekend against Tottenham Hotspur following Arsenal’s draw with Crystal Palace.

Liverpool Premier League Title Permutations

The Reds now need a singular point to secure a record-equalling 20th Premier League title with a golden opportunity to seal the deal at home to Spurs on Sunday afternoon.

If Arsenal had beaten Palace on Wednesday, Liverpool would’ve needed to beat Tottenham to secure the crown but Jean-Philippe Mateta’s late equaliser to make it 2-2 ensures the job is an easier task.

The magic number is 80 and with Liverpool on 79 after 33 games played, if Arne Slot’s men avoid defeat at Anfield they will receive a Guard of Honour in the remaining fixtures against Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Palace.

Bookmakers price Liverpool to win or draw at 1/20 against Spurs and the Merseyside giants couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity to put the finishing touches on a magnificent season.

The Reds beat Spurs 6-3 when the pair met in North London earlier in the campaign and with Ange Postecoglou’s full focus now on the Europa League, the visitors are unlikely to field a full strength side.

When Liverpool’s fate as champions is confirmed, they will Manchester United as the only 20-time top-flight title winners in history.

In 1990 when Liverpool won their 18th league title, United were sat on just seven – before Sir Alex Ferguson came along and won 13 titles in 20 seasons from 1992-93 to 2012-13.

That gave the Red Devils a cushion of two in the all-time standings but the club soon went backwards following Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

Liverpool added a 19th in 2019-20 and have all but confirmed a 20th will be added to the trophy cabinet in a very short space of time.
