Here’s our Liverpool Vs Chelsea confirmed lineups, preview and prediction as two of the Premier League’s top sides face off at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.

Arne Slot’s Reds host Enzo Maresca’s Blues in the pick of this weekend’s matchups.

Liverpool go into the game on top of the Wolves in the earlier Sunday fixture.

The league leaders beat Crystal Palace last time out, and have won six from seven so far. Liverpool’s only loss this campaign was a shock home defeat to Nottingham Forest in September.

Chelsea meanwhile are sixth in the table, but only four points behind their opponents ahead of the game.

They have won four, drawn two and lost one of their opening seven, also dropping points against Nottingham Forest.

Historically, Liverpool and Chelsea’s head-to-head record favours the Reds. In 173 meetings, Liverpool have won 77 to Chelsea’s 53, with 43 draws.

Chelsea have not beaten Liverpool in their past nine attempts. Their last victory in this fixture was a 1-0 Premier League win at Anfield in March 2021.

Liverpool Vs Chelsea Team News

Liverpool Team News

Arne Slot will be without first-choice keeper Alisson until after the November international break. Backup Caoimhin Kelleher will therefore step in, with the Irish international back from the illness that saw him miss the trip to Selhurst Park.

Harvey Elliott remains sidelined with a broken foot, whilst Federico Chiesa is also out.

With the international break creating some fresh fitness concerns, Slot has opted not to risk Luis Diaz or Alexis Mac Allister from the start.

As a result, Cody Gakpo and Curtis Jones slot in from the off.

Chelsea Team News

Enzo Maresca has his own issues, with both Marc Cucurella and Wesley Fofana picking up suspensions against Forest. The pair each miss out after accruing five yellow cards this season.

Some positive news for Chelsea fans is that long-term absentee Reece James appears to have shaken off his latest injury problem.

The fullback is back in training after a pre-season hamstring problem, and starts in place of Cucurella.

Tosin Adarabioyo replaces Fofana at the back.

Liverpool Vs Chelsea Confirmed Lineups:

Liverpool confirmed lineup:

Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson; Jones, Gravenberch; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Jota

Chelsea confirmed lineup:

Sanchez; Gusto, Adarabioyo, Colwill, James; Caicedo, Lavia; Madueke, Palmer, Sancho; Jackson

Liverpool Vs Chelsea Prediction

While Chelsea have not beaten Liverpool in nine attempts, there will be renewed optimism amongst Blues fans.

They have improved significantly under new boss Enzo Maresca, and will pose a big challenge to their hosts.

But Arne Slot’s table-topping Reds have been superb so far, and it’s difficult to see them losing on home turf.

While a draw or even a Chelsea victory is more than possible, we think Liverpool will just have enough to edge this one.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-1 Chelsea
