The latest Liverpool transfer news indicates that the Reds are eyeing a move for experienced centre-back Joachim Andersen.

Boss Arne Slot is exploring suitable candidates who could potentially replace club captain Virgil van Dijk. The Dutchman’s contract is up in the summer and a new deal is yet to be agreed.

Van Dijk is not the only player who could leave Anfield on a free transfer at the end of the season. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mo Salah are yet to have their futures decided.

If the Merseysiders lost all three stars, it would be a huge blow to their long-term plans. Even more so when Slot is primed to mount a genuine Premier League title challenge.

However, Slot’s side has been linked with a variety of new gs over the coming weeks owing to their precarious position. One in particular has come as something of a surprise.

Liverpool Transfer News Suggest Joachim Andersen Bid Is Imminent

If the latest Liverpool transfer news is to be believed, the league-leaders are set to make with Fulham about the possibility of g Joachim Andersen.

The towering 6 ft 4 in centre-back only moved to Craven Cottage from Crystal Palace in the summer window. Doing so for a reported £30 million.

Andersen has proven to be one of the most underrated stars in England’s elite in recent years. During his time with the Eagles, he formed a solid partnership with Marc Guehi.

In of stats in 2024/25, Andersen actually trumps Virgil Van Dijk for tackles won and ball recoveries. The Danish international has featured in less games.

Additionally, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are also rumoured to be interested in Andersen. Aged 28, the defender is very much in his prime and he would justify a sizeable transfer fee.

With that in mind, it’s unknown how much the Cottagers would ask for. That’s even if they are tempted to sell. Andersen signed a five-year deal when moving to west London so they aren’t under any pressure to lose him.

The Reds are back in action this weekend as they take on struggling Southampton. Ahead of the action, the best football betting sites in the UK make Slot’s side the 3/10 match favourites.
