Leeds United are officially promoted back to the Premier League with flawless 6-0 thrashing of Stoke City at a rapturous Elland Road. You can watch the Leeds United vs Stoke City highlights from Monday’s Championship clash below.

Leeds Secure Premier League Return After 6-0 Thrashing Of Stoke

A win for Leeds United against Stoke City at Elland Road would mean that anything but a Sheffield United win at Burnley later in the evening would secure their promotion back to the Premier League.

The best football betting sites were firmly favouring Leeds pre-match, and it was clear to see why. It was clear to see that Daniel Farke’s side were in no mood for messing about, instead putting Stoke to the sword right from the get-go.

The Championship leaders hit the front after just six minutes, with Joel Piroe tapping home Manor Solomon’s across the box to send Elland Road into raptures.

Just two minutes later Piroe had his second, this time driving past Viktor Johansson at the near post to double Leeds’ lead. The Dutch striker sealed his hat-trick in just 20 minutes, this time converting from close range at the back post.

As if things couldn’t get any better for Leeds, they added a fourth in the 26th minute. This time it was Junior Firpo who found the back of the net, sealing the three points and possible promotion with less than 30 minutes played at Elland Road.

The hosts weren’t done yet, with Piroe scoring his fourth of the afternoon and 19th of the Championship season before the break. Piroe’s four first-half goals meant he ed Norwich’s Borja Sainz and now leads the Golden Boot standings with two league games left to go.

HT: Leeds United 5-0 Stoke City

There was simply no way back for Stoke City, that was abundantly clear. For Mark Robins it was damaged limitation, hoping that his Potters side could put up a bit more of as fight in the second half and maybe even grab a goal or two of their own if anything.

However, Daniel Farke’s side were enjoying themselves and were keen for even more. The hosts added a sixth goal just before the hour mark, this time Willy Gnonto getting on the scoresheet with a neat header from close range from Manor Solomon’s cross.

After that, the home side just went through the motions and were evidently enjoying themselves. The visitors were actually unbeaten in five and had won three of their last five Championship games, but it’s fair to say Monday afternoon was a nightmare at Elland Road.

This emphatic win for Leeds at Elland Road has now officially confirmed their promotion back to the Premier League. The Whites are officially promoted now following Burnley’s 2-1 victory over Sheffield United at Turf Moor in the late kick-off.

For Stoke, they can still mathematically go down but it looks like it will be mid-table mediocrity for them once again this season.
