Kevin De Bruyne itted he was surprised not to receive a new contract offer from Manchester City and revealed he is open to anything in his next chapter.

De Bruyne, 33, ed City in 2015 for a then-club-record fee £55 million and went on to win six Premier League titles at the club as well as two FA Cups, five League Cups and a Champions League.

The Belgian is City’s most decorated player of all-time, collecting 19 major honours and growing into one of the world’s best talents during his time at the Etihad Stadium.

On April 4th, De Bruyne revealed he would leave City at the end of the season and recently spoke on the club’s decision not to offer him a new deal.

“I was a little bit shocked, yeah. I have not had any offer the whole year, they just took a decision.

“Obviously, I was a bit surprised but I just have to accept it. I’m open for anything.”

The midfielder has struggled with recurring injuries over the last number of seasons but last week he revealed he is now playing without pain, describing the difference as night and day.

De Bruyne has been linked with a move to the MLS in the United States but he still believes he can compete at the highest level week in, week out.

During his time in Manchester he earned five PFA Premier League Team of the Year and FIFPro World 11 honours respectively alongside two PFA Player of the Year awards.

The marksman has struggled to stay on the pitch in recent years, starting just 15 Premier League games this season and 15 in 2023-24.

Recognised as one of the all-time greats to feature in the top-flight, if his body is right there’s no denying he still has plenty more to give in England – but it doesn’t look like a risk City are willing to take.
