The Katie Taylor next fight has been officially confirmed, with the Irish boxing superstar facing Amanda Serrano for the third time in their trilogy bout this summer. Could ‘KT’ retire after her next fight or perhaps have a trilogy bout with Chantelle Cameron?

Katie Taylor Next Fight: ‘KT’ Set For Epic Trilogy Bout With Amanda Serrano

After beating Amanda Serrano in their highly-anticipated rematch last time out on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard, Katie Taylor’s next fight has now been officially confirmed.

‘KT’ improved her record to 24-1 with a unanimous decision victory over Serrano in their rematch, defending her undisputed world super-lightweight titles in the process. The fight was another close one, with the Irish boxing star getting the nod once again.

Given how close their first two fights have been, there is still some unfinished business. This is why the Katie Taylor next fight will once again be again her familiar foe in Amanda Serrano, with a trilogy bout now officially confirmed for July 11th.

After arguably stealing the show on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard, Taylor vs Serrano 3 has now been officially announced as the headline fight at Madison Square Garden in New York this summer.

Boxing fans had been calling for a trilogy with Serrano, despite Taylor winning both the first and second fights. The contests have been so evenly fought that a trilogy still sells and remains the biggest fight out there for either fighter.

Aside from the Serrano trilogy, the 38-year-old has even more options going forward in her career. That’s if she beats Serrano once again, which the best UK boxing betting sites are favouring her to do as a marginal favourite.

There is no doubting that Katie Taylor is arguably the greatest sportsperson to ever come out of Ireland, and is the pound-for-pound queen of boxing. Should she win her next fight and beat Serrano for a third time, she may well ride off into the sunset once and for all.

Could Katie Taylor Retire If She Beats Amanda Serrano For The Third Time?

Should Katie Taylor‘s next fight result in another triumph over Amanda Serrano, the Irish boxing phenom will have some decision to make going forward. By the time the fight is said and done, Taylor will be 39-years-old with nothing left to prove in the sport.

Besides a potential trilogy with Chantelle Cameron, who remains the only fighter to have beaten ‘KT’ in the professional ranks, there is nothing left for Taylor to prove. Talk of a potential retirement has been rife for the past year or so, but for now she is showing no signs of stopping.

That being said, nobody would begrudge Taylor if she decided to hang up her gloves. She is 38-years-old, has achieved so much in the sport as both an amateur and pro. She has nothing left to prove, and retirement is certainly an option worth considering.

Promoter Eddie Hearn has said that retirement could be a legitimate option for ‘KT’. However, he has also said the opposite too. At the end of the day, she is the single biggest star in female boxing and could make millions more before she eventually retires.

Saudi Arabia boxing chief, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, could also want to get involved with Katie Taylor. Taylor may well want another couple of big fights before she does eventually hang up her gloves.

Time will tell whether the Irish boxing star fights on, or if she rides off into the sunset as the greatest female fighter to ever grace the ring. But first, the Katie Taylor next fight in her trilogy with Amanda Serrano is the only focus.
