The Junto Nakatani next fight is a hot topic of conversation, with boxing fans desperate to see the Naoya Inoue clash. Whether Nakatani fights Inoue next or continues to campaign at bantamweight remains to be seen.

Junto Nakatani Next Fight: When Is The Unbeaten Japanese Superstar Back In Action? 311h49

Junto Nakatani has become quite the superstar in boxing circles over the past year or two. The undefeated Japanese fighter fought three times in 2024, as well as kicking off 2025 with an emphatic knockout victory in February.

As of today, Junto Nakatani’s record sits at a perfect 30-0, consisting of 23 knockout victories and just seven decision wins. The 27-year-old is arguably the second biggest sports star in Japan, behind a certain Naoya Inoue of course.

Nakatani currently holds the WBC World Bantamweight Title and has done since February 2024. Prior to becoming world champion at 118-pounds, Nakatani held world title belts at both flyweight and super-flyweight. All in all, Junto Nakatani is a three-weight world champion already.

Regarding what is on the horizon, the Junto Nakatani next fight has yet to be confirmed just yet. Nakatani knocked out David Cuellar in Round 3 of his latest world title defence, and is now on the lookout for his next opponent going forward in 2025.

Boxing fans all over the world regard Nakatani as the best 118-pound fighter in the world right now, despite having just one of the four belts. 2025 could of course be the year he unifies the division or even becomes undisputed, with each of the four world title belts currently held by four different Japanese fighters.

Regardless of who he faces, Junto Nakatani’s next fight will see him as a comprehensive favourite with the best UK betting sites. Not only that, but the Japanese powerhouse is usually such a concussive puncher that he will likely be odds on to win via knockout too.

Could Nakatani’s Next Fight Be The All-Japanese Mega-Fight With Naoya Inoue? 1c4gd

Although the Junto Nakatani next fight is yet to be confirmed, boxing fans are already talking about what could come after that. Whether that be unifications at bantamweight with the likes of Seiya Tsutsumi, Ryosuke Nishida or Yoshiki Takei who each hold another of the four recognised world title crowns.

Aside from unifications at 118-pounds, there is one other fight boxing fans crave more than anything else. That is of course the all-Japanese mega-clash with the ‘Monster’ himself – Naoya Inoue.

For the fight to happen, it is likely that Nakatani would need to move up to super-bantamweight where Naoya Inoue currently competes. It is unlikely Inoue could move back down to bantamweight, a division he has already conquered and become undisputed king of.

A super-bantamweight clash between the pair makes total sense, if of course Junto Nakatani moves up in weight. If the fight was to ever happen, it would be on of the biggest in all of boxing and without doubt the greatest fight in Japanese boxing history.

Should this fight happen, the pound-for-pound boxing great, but Nakatani himself would certainly have plenty of backers too.

Saudi Arabia boxing chief Naoya Inoue in the past. What better way to introduce Inoue to the Riyadh Season market than an all-Japanese clash with fellow unbeaten star Junto Nakatani?
